Nina Dobrev In Monique Lhuillier – 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Nina Dobrev In Monique Lhuillier - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie AwardsWith divine looks like the one Nina Dobrev debuted at last night’s 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, it’s not hard to see why she was our Breakout Star of 2012.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ starlet has conquered the red carpet yet again with her Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 cocktail frock the color of turquoise-blue waters.

Taken right from the runway, the dress had a keyhole detail at the bodice and a rounded tulip-style skirt. Generously studded with radiant gems, the look was almost one of a giant piece of rock crystal candy. Delicious!

Nina really even looks better in the dress than the model.

Her simple black Brian Atwood ‘Evie’ sandals with a thin ankle strap ensured that no attention was taken away from Monique’s main attraction.

A slicked-back ponytail didn’t intrude with the neckline of the dress either, while nude makeup finished the look.

I agree about the shoes. They’re too basic and I don’t think black shoes really go with that dress; not a good color combo.

It’s a gorgeous dress but two things are bugging me: 1. I think the proportions, taking into account the dramatic neckline, would look better if the dress was over the knee and 2. neither pair of shoes works for me.

100% agree Nina looks better than the model! I’m obsessed with her in this dress….I just think it’s head to toe perfection!! I saw a couple pics of it up close and the detail on this dress is stunning! BDOTW contender for me!

I usually at least like Nina’s looks. I don’t this time. I don’t like the cut of the dress and it looks like someone went crazy with a bedazzle gun on it.

I agree with the person up top that said the proportions are off. That was my first thought, that the skirt needed to be a tad longer. It’s not terrible, just not BDOTW worthy.

I wish the keyhole was a little less revealing, but I do love the edgy, beautiful texture and color of the dress. Nina’s styling is a little…flat, though.

This dress is growing on me big time. I didn’t really like it when I saw it the first time on the red carpet but seeing it again here I love it. I love the shoes as well. Maybe I’d just change the hairstyle even though it fits the dress.

I absolutely LOVE it! It’s age appropriate and beautiful and most importantly, she’s rocking it because she seems to be having fun wearing it. Her hair and makeup also look amazing. She’s my top 3 of the night.

I love her and the dress. For some reason she just has that quality where she is always stunning to me compared to other starlets in her age group (aside from emma stone). However, I do wish the styling was a little different – a different shoe, maybe a bracelet? I get that the dress itself is very prominent but something is missing from the styling

I think she looks gorgeous, she always looks good in Lhuillier designs. I love the dress and excited to see it worn well. I prefer the runway shoes but Nina’s are absolutely fine.
