Marion Cotillard In Zuhair Murad Couture – 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Marion Cotillard In Zuhair Murad Couture - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

When I saw Marion Cotillard on the red carpet this evening for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, my first reaction was, “the spell is broken”.

Childish I know, but I’m excited to finally see her in something other than Dior and especially Zuhair Murad Couture.

Her Fall 2012 black lace A-line dress featuring floral beaded appliqué and an open back is the most playful I’ve seen Marion in a long time.

I’m sure you will agree that her spark, that many of us were missing, is finally back.

As you would expect from Marion, her styling was impeccable with nude accessories including Jimmy Choo ‘Tahi’ sandals plus she dazzled in Chopard jewels.

A side parted bun and neutral makeup completed her look.

Needless to say she is my favourite so far.

Love this dress, really keen to buy it, does any one know where I can buy this dress please? June

    • Catherine Kallon April 22, 2013 at 08:15 #

      From Zuhair Murad

  2. Amber January 11, 2013 at 22:39 #

Terrible accessories! What a way to ruin a fabulous dress. 🙁

  3. Dhppy January 11, 2013 at 20:15 #

The accessories would be great with a different dress (like Agbani Darego’s green Roland Mouret, or Kerry Washington’s J. Mendel at the Berlin Premiere). However, I think this dress demands colorful accents.

    • Taksi January 12, 2013 at 00:37 #

I agree, or go basic black. The nude accessories don’t go at all.

  4. sara January 11, 2013 at 19:46 #

gorgeous!!!!! Im in love… I wish I could step into her shoes just for one second to wear this look head to toe 🙂

  5. Leti January 11, 2013 at 18:49 #

This is exquisite! I don’t love the sandals, but I think she’s just barely pulling them off because they’re nude, and probably because it’s Marion.

  6. Agathe January 11, 2013 at 17:20 #

I love everything about this look. Well done, Marion!

  7. gabis January 11, 2013 at 16:44 #

Not on board with the nude/beige accessories or the bracelet but I do love everything else. The dress is gorgeous and so are her hair and makeup.

  8. Cindy January 11, 2013 at 14:19 #

Love the dress, but not the shoes or the clutch.

  9. Jess2 January 11, 2013 at 13:26 #

I have a Hallelujah chorus playing in my head right now! Thank the lord for Zuhair Murad Couture!!! She looks sensational. I’m not in love with the shoes but they don’t detract from the amazing overall look.

  10. dee January 11, 2013 at 13:22 #

She looks adorable. I think everything works well together.

  11. Amy January 11, 2013 at 13:21 #

    nothing exciting here, sorry!

  12. Arina January 11, 2013 at 13:08 #

This is beautiful, I’m so glad she’s getting her mojo back and ditched Dior for once. 🙂

  13. Rebiiii January 11, 2013 at 13:00 #

    It’s NOT a Dior dress!!!

  14. Anne January 11, 2013 at 12:40 #

This is my favorite of the night. Not only do I love this collection, but Marion totally shines in this dress- color, flowers, silhouette, fit and etc etc etc. I wasn’t sure about the shoe, but I’m on board. Love it all

  15. Dan Oliver January 11, 2013 at 11:46 #

YAY it’s great too see Marion in something other than Dior and this dress is divine she looks spectacular I would of liked to seen different colour shoes but she still is my favourite of the night.

  16. sasa January 11, 2013 at 11:32 #

This is my favorite look of the night. The dress is gorgeous and I even like the accessories. My only tiny complaint- I wish her hair was in a simpler bun without the huge side sweep.

  17. Lee Ann January 11, 2013 at 11:16 #

I adore this dress and think it is far nicer than any of the Dior. I will now probably burn in hell. But the shoes prevent it from being perfect.

  18. Lara J January 11, 2013 at 10:52 #

I may have squealed “oh so pretty” in a rather high pitched voice upon first viewing this. Definitely the Marion I’ve been missing! Gorgeous.

  19. Neli January 11, 2013 at 10:49 #

Not Dior???? Nice, but don’t get the sandals.

  20. Louise January 11, 2013 at 10:27 #

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. So sad she missed out on an Oscar nom as we probably won’t see her on the red-carpet.

  21. Wafa Al-Alawi January 11, 2013 at 10:22 #

She looks good, but the sandals I DON’T GET!

  22. Noemi (WBiS) January 11, 2013 at 09:02 #

Great dress, wrong shoes, for me. I don’t like so much her hairdo. She can do better (but even worse, we know it well).

  25. Tea January 11, 2013 at 07:21 #

Love the dress! So so beautiful! I’m delighted Marion chose Zuhair Murad and I think she wears the dress well but I’m not a fan of her shoe choice at all 🙁

  26. kiwi January 11, 2013 at 06:44 #

Love the dress and the fact that she changed it up.. hate the shoes

  27. Elise January 11, 2013 at 06:26 #

Beautiful dress, not so sure about shoes and bag.

  28. Christine January 11, 2013 at 05:47 #

She looks good. This dress is beautiful.

  29. Joy January 11, 2013 at 05:34 #

YAY!!! I SO love her! Marion is my fav, even when she is broken. It is so exciting to see her looking so beautiful. Love Love Love!!!

  30. Mol January 11, 2013 at 04:46 #

I quite like this, just not the clutch, the shoes work for me though. I have loved the last few appearances of Marion, she has hit my sweet spot recently!

  31. Eve_V January 11, 2013 at 04:02 #

She looks great, but I wish she’d lost the clutch (or chosen a different color), as it is too much matte nude for my liking.

  32. Aline January 11, 2013 at 03:58 #

When I saw this my heart flipped in excitment! It’s not her best look and I don’t like the nude accessories, but the dress does look great on her and it’s very pretty. Let’s cross our fingers she’ll stay away from Dior the rest of the awards season.

  33. Marybeth January 11, 2013 at 03:42 #

I love it! She looks beautiful.

  34. Pedro January 11, 2013 at 03:40 #

    She looks gorgeous!!!

    Perfect from h-2-t

  35. Lola January 11, 2013 at 03:33 #

YES YES YES! This looks gives me thrills!

  36. justme January 11, 2013 at 03:29 #

As fun as this dress is, I find it subpar when compared to the sea of gowns that will be on this red carpet.

The nude accessories are also a bit too safe imo.

  37. Mandy January 11, 2013 at 03:10 #

Yes, finally something that different. She looks lovely, not a huge fan of the shoes but i’m so happy that it isn’t Dior i won’t complain.

  38. Bec January 11, 2013 at 02:50 #

    I gasped. J’Adore!

  39. Medusa January 11, 2013 at 02:42 #

I think the dress is GORGEOUS! I love it! I want it! BUT I don’t think the bag & the shoes work. The colors works, but I think the bag should be smaller & the shoes different. I’m not a fan of the shoe design.

  40. TeaAtTwo January 11, 2013 at 02:41 #

She does looks sublime. It’s fun and elegant and the embroidery is pretty. Swaying over whether the accessories would have been better in black or nude but I do think her shoes are great, give a slight edge. Her modern ballerina bun was definitely the right choice.

  41. let January 11, 2013 at 02:34 #

    don’t like the sandals

    • Yeliz January 11, 2013 at 09:34 #

Me neither. The dress is beautiful, but a no to the sandals. I am glad that she didn’t wore Dior, though.

  42. EmmaWoodhouse January 11, 2013 at 02:29 #

My jaw literally dropped. This stunning fairy-like dress is the PERFECT remedy to the Dior rut! She and Emmy are my favorites so far–I love this!
As for styling, I am uncertain about the shoes but I think she’s pulling it off and am glad that she matched them to the clutch. The watch is great, it’s just the hair–a bit too severely side-parted.
Hey, I’m just nitpicking. This is gorgeous!

  43. Ella January 11, 2013 at 02:28 #

She looks gorgeous….and I don’t often get wowed by Marion. Love this dress so much!

  44. Nat39 January 11, 2013 at 02:25 #

The dress is adorable but I’m not excited about the girly cut/fit-and-flare silhouette on her, or her nude accessories esp. the sandals – the thick straps overwhelm her ankles badly and aren’t working well with this length.

    • admmgz January 11, 2013 at 06:16 #

  45. bm January 11, 2013 at 02:24 #

Yay she picked other than Dior. But not this dress. Too Bad.

  46. shontay January 11, 2013 at 02:19 #

Perfection head to toe. When she gets it right, it’s hard to top her. It sucks she missed out on an Oscar nomination. I hope she still shows up so I can see what she wears.
