Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung – 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jennifer Lawrence was also making her second appearance on the red carpet in so many days when she attended the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California this evening.

I was delighted that she wasn’t wearing a drastically aging dress on this occasion as she donned a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown, but did it have to be black – again?

This is her fourth all black look in a row.

Her stunning gown featuring a sheer inset at the leather yoke, sweetheart neckline and all over draped detail was accented with a leather waistband with a silver buckle.

The hair is a bit lacklustre for this gown, but I’m appreciating the step in the right direction.

Chopard jewels, Jimmy Choo ‘Vamp’ sandals and a Roger Vivier frame crystal clutch completed her look.

Totally! Jennifer Lawrence + Prabal Gurung is such a winning combo

Naomi Watts, in the same type of black gown, looks way younger than her…

    • bm January 11, 2013 at 02:15 #

      OMG, yes that’s true.

    • Noemi (WBiS) January 11, 2013 at 09:18 #

So true! And I don’t like the hairdo and the belt. Good actress, cute girl but very overrated.

A colour other than black would’ve been great, it’s getting tiresome, indeed. Nonetheless, the fit is fantastic, her figure looks great, and I think it’s the right balance of elegant and edgier sexy. The pretty sparkly accessories add some glamour to the look, her hair doesn’t bother me much.

An improvement over her last outing, but still not there yet.

If I was her stylist, I would pick the Pink or White gown from the same collection. Still not feeling the Jennifer Lawrence that I love.

I’m not wowed but it’s decent and alot better and way more age appropirate than some of the tragic outfits she’s been put in recently. The schoolgirl side bun wasn’t the best choice though. Next step- give the girl some colour in clothes.

This is so improved! I love this look, actually, though the neckline cutout is a little low. The black doesn’t bother me, though it would have been better in a color. I’m very pleased to see Jennifer looking her age.

  7. Ella January 11, 2013 at 02:30 #

Here I’m different from everyone else….I really like this look. Even though it is in black (not my favorite color in the world ;-) ) And I actually like her hair.

So I’m in the minority whichever way you look at it

  8. pipsqueak January 11, 2013 at 02:34 #

This is a stunning look sans the hair. I don’t mind black. The hair is rather desperate housewife and would go perfectly with Juicy sweats.

  9. let January 11, 2013 at 02:39 #

    OMG the hair looks stupid

  10. Mandy January 11, 2013 at 03:12 #

It’s a step in the right direction. My fingers are still crossed for a colourful gown and wow moment at the Globes and Oscars.

    • admmgz January 11, 2013 at 06:31 #

      We can only hope

  11. Aline January 11, 2013 at 04:06 #

It’s not the most exciting dress in the world, but I still really like it. She looks very classy. I just hope she wears something that will WOW me on Sunday.

Prabal Gurung + Jennifer Lawrence = Winning combination (so far)

  13. Christine January 11, 2013 at 05:50 #

Still not feeling this look. It ages her.

  14. Alina January 11, 2013 at 07:39 #

Better, but still not good enough.

  15. shoegal January 11, 2013 at 09:37 #

Looove this dress, actually. And is that metallic belt Dior, instead of the original?

  16. Neli January 11, 2013 at 10:52 #

    she looks pretty

  17. pixie January 11, 2013 at 12:30 #

oh, almost there! if only the look was styled with the lookbook belt!

  18. Anne January 11, 2013 at 12:42 #

Finally I love something Jennifer is wearing. Feels like a lifetime. Top 5 best of the night for me

  19. Molly January 11, 2013 at 12:55 #

Yes, better. She doesn’t look like she ducked into the restroom and swapped dresses with Liza Minelli. But during her Hunger Games promotion, every single look was a hit, many of them knockouts even though there were many black dresses in the mix. Please – place a 911 call to whoever styled her then!

  20. Jess2 January 11, 2013 at 13:09 #

Yay, a step in the right direction. I think she looks pretty good and this is probably the best she has looked since going brunette.

  21. Arina January 11, 2013 at 13:10 #

She’s still got some way to go to get back on track, but I think she got it right this time. It’s a good look.

  22. Amy January 11, 2013 at 13:29 #

black doesn’t bother me, she looks great

  23. CreoleLady January 11, 2013 at 16:30 #

This dress is stunning. I came back to look at it again. The draping, bodice and belt all work to flatter her figure.

  24. Leti January 11, 2013 at 18:52 #

This is an improvement, but a disappointment in the sense that she can do so much better.

  25. Shelby January 11, 2013 at 19:24 #

I definitely feel the stylist’s hand in Jennifer’s recent looks. I think she’s being aged, she’s only 22 years old! I’ll take what I can get in the meantime. At least she chose a younger silhouette and her hair is lightening – she’s starting to look more like herself, now if only her style could catch up … Hopefully the upcoming award shows will continue in this vein :)

  26. Betelgeuze January 11, 2013 at 22:23 #

The hair leaves some space for improvement and yes, it’s black once again, but I must say the dress is awesome and looks fabulous on Jennifer. I love the look, had the dress been at least navy I would say adore.

In some better news, yay Jen wore some colour today! http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/actress-jennifer-lawrence-attends-the-13th-annual-afi-news-photo/159318276
