There were three black gowns on the red carpet yesterday evening at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, where the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards took place.
Jaime King’s Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013 gown was my favourite of them all, proving that black doesn’t have to be boring.
Her black semi-sheer strappy gown with a plunging neckline and featuring a central slit was accented with a leather belt with gold-link accents.
Channelling Old Hollywood with a vampy twist, the actress styled her look with wavy golden tresses swept to one side and a bold red lip colour.
Christian Louboutin black ‘Pigalle’ pumps, David Webb jewels, and a Jill Milan clutch provided the finishing touches.

She lokks sexy and mysterious but i dont like the shoes, so boring
One of my favourite
She looks breathtaking, definitely a BDOTW contender.
Gorgeous! So chic! Her and Emily Rossum are my best dressed from this event.
This is my wish-list dress for Diane Kruger, I bet she would rocking that central slit like no one can do.
Jaime did look good, but wished she choose the strappy sandal like the lookbook model.
Jamie looks almost (- shoes) exactly the same as the model, right down to the hair and makeup
She is really rocking the dress. Love it!
This is a very, very sexy dress but the little changes from the model look to Jaime’s make all the difference to me. The darker lipstick and the sandals work so much better then what Jaime is sporting.

I agree, she should have totally copied the lookbook styling. Pumps rarely work for thigh high slits on gowns, they feel so stark and heavy. Also tattoo are never glamorous.
Agree with everyone else on this dress is gorgeous on her hair make up perfect the shoes are the only let down
I think she looks head to toe amazing! BDOTW contender!
She looks fantastic, I love her styling. One of the best of the night.
She looks phenomenal, one of her best looks in recent history. I absolutely love this look!
BDOTW is going to be a nightmare, I don’t know who to pick!
Wow, this is indeed anything but boring. She looks so gorgeous. After other pointed it out, the shoe could be better, but honestly, I didn’t notice at first because I was looking at every other gorgeous facet of her look.

I love this dress. Jaime always looks good in Wu, but I prefer the presentation model which obviously Jaime was going towards mimicking. I also don’t like how her hair was pinned from the back, and please cover that tattoo. I don’t normally have an issue with ink, but it does no favors to this look
the model’s version is better
Note to self, never get tattoos on my back. Or in visible places for that matter. They can KILL an evening gown. Tattoos are beautiful, just not in this context. She looks so beautiful in this dress. She is the epitome of perfection from her hair–makeup and the dress fits her just perfectly. Until she turns around, no thanks!

Also, so interesting to see the new design direction Jason Wu is taking. Still has girly girl as part of his aesthetic but am loving some of his moodier, sexier pieces like this one.
Agreed!
Beautiful girl. Beautiful dress. Beautiful accessories.
Shame about the tattoos. Plus the one that is her last name is just awful
Not really a fan of the dress, it’s a bit too slinky/revealing for me and though I like the belt it doesn’t feel super original. Jennifer’s Prabal was my favorite black of the night. I do like Jaime’s styling, but for the shoes and those tacky tattoos.
This dress is to DIE for and she gives it justice. I love love love it. So much so that the shoes don’t bother me so much. Definitely one of the best of the night.
I love this… she looks beautiful! Gorgeous gown, I love the back. I do wish she went with a sandal though.
