Jennifer Lawrence took home the ‘Favourite Movie Actress’ Award at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live yesterday evening, which officially kicked off awards season.
The young actress started the year as she ended the last – failing to impress.
I had hoped the young star was just experimenting last year, but this Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress does nothing for her, except age her somewhat.
At this point I’m starting to believe her team is trying to take her down the Rooney Mara route, because I can picture her pulling off this look.
Where is the playful, fresh Jennifer of early 2012?
The only plus side for me is that her hair appears lighter.
Nicholas Kirkwood diamond-encrusted black satin pumps and Cartier jewels completed her look.
The disco-era called, they want their dress back.

The hair and the shoes make this a successful look for me
Not good.
I think this dress would look good on someone like Nicole Kidman.
She needs to go back to her old stylist.
so true
Got to go with FC on this one…not a good look and please send it back to the discoera…ASAP!!!
This is a complete disaster. When I think of her Hunger Games promo tour (which I loved), I just can’t accept how her outfits became worse and worse.
Her hair and shoes are very pretty, but I just can’t get past the dress. It ages her and in a very bad way.
+1
Couldn’t have said it better myself Francesca! Her styling is awesome but whoever is dressing Jennifer these days needs to get their stuff together.
I love Jennifer, but why is she choosing such horrid outfits for the RC?
ITA!!
This is so bad. The dress ages her drastically. Her styling is fine, but I can’t get over how matronly that dress makes her look.
+1 It’s so sad she started off so strong and now she just keeps heading downhill. I hope she snaps out of it for the big award shows
will be in minority here but I like this look everything about it,she looks super glamorous and beautiful IMO
I like her hair, I like her shoes and I do like the upper part of the dress. The skirt is however questionable. It should be longer or tighter, and I don’t mean that just on Jennifer, I think the original runway look is not very flattering for any woman (even if it’s Valentino).
Agree with some of the others, it ages here. This might not seem so bad, if it was an someone older.
hate the dress and love the shoes!
not her best, but still miles better than her Dior ensembles.
love it on the model, on jennifer she looks like some retired vegas showgirl.
+1
The choice to change stylists was not a good one. None of her recent looks fit her personality. They’re dark and aging and disappointing
This would good on someone older. This is too mature for her.
no,no… just no
She needs to fire Rachel Zoe and go crawling back to Elizabeth Stewart.
Hair and makeup are nice, though.
I love the hairstyle, the shoes, and her poised attitude, but the dress…if that pesky slit wasn’t there it would be great for someone like Helen Mirren or Diane Lane. But on Jennifer, it’s all wrong.
I don’t think this dress would work on anyone, but it is certainly wrong for this lovely young woman. She needs a new stylist. Period.
H2T this is a hot mess.
Okay, I admit that the dress is more fit to 50+ women, but when I think about it, the dress isn’t that hideous. Had she still had black hair it would be much worse. Still way below her previous average, but my girl crush’s still there.
I actually love this dress on Jennifer! Wow, I’m surprised at all the comments. Granted, it does seem to sit on her frame sort of awkwardly, but it looks very glamorous and chic. I don’t think it ages her very much. The sheer part at the top and the slit, as well as her sparkle-bottom shoes keep it youthful.
This is just BAD. She looks horrible.
I’m desperately trying and finding things to like about this.
jennifer has such a vibrant, goofy personality, and her recent dark looks don’t fit that at all. granted, you don’t have to dress like your personality all the time, but i just haven’t been liking her outfits. still love her though
This dress is quite ice-skater esque… which is never a good sign
I hope Jen made getting a new stylist one of her new year’s resolutions.
weird fashion choices lately, i guess she’s trying to be adventurous.
