Ellen Pompeo took home the trophy for ‘Favourite Dramatic TV Actress’ at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards hosted last night at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in California.
Rather than go super-dressy, the popular ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star went for a breezy, effortless spin in a loose, pleated maxi dress in soft cream, paired with a black leather waist belt and a marigold yellow clutch, all from Lanvin’s Resort 2013 collection.
Cuffed sleeves contributed a casual vibe, while a daringly high front slit added a sexy peek-a-boo element when she walked. She took the runway look a step further by revealing a plunging neckline, which was a smart style move.
The belt provided much-needed shape and edge. But it was the sunny color of the clutch that unexpectedly provided an interesting punch to this otherwise monochrome ensemble.
Ellen further accessorized with gold Sydney Evan jewelry and a Jennifer Meyer pendant necklace, along with barely visible Christian Louboutin heels.

Don’t like slits, so that element doesn’t work for me. Other than that, this is refreshing–laid back and relaxed.
This is boring.
second that.
I love the dress, and the shoes she worked very well
She looks comfortable but I am not sure I like this dress.
Probably one of my favourite red carpet Lanvin looks ever.
Fantastic.
+1 – and the best I’ve seen her look in a while
I can’t stop looking at it.
Not loving. Looks likes shes in her bathrobe waiting for the hair and makeup people to show up (and they never did)…
Oh,I was anxiously waiting for this post, FC! Ellen Pompeo was my best dressed of the night. I’m crazy about this look, absolutely LOVE it head-to-toe. I can’t find one thing I would change. Divine, flawless and perfect!
She looks nice, but nothing special.

A little too simple.
A bit too relaxed and careless-looking for the event.
I like it, it’s chic and understated.

one of the best of the night to me, original and fresh!
The power of the belt is in effect. This dress would have been forgettable without the chic addition.
Love it!
i like the dress but not on her, it’s literally hanging on her. Not a good look
