Zhang Zilin In Dolce & Gabbana – Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards

Zhang Zilin In Dolce & Gabbana - Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards

Zhang Zilin attended the Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards held at China World Hotel Beijing in China yesterday evening.

Here we have our first look at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 collection on the red carpet. It’s interesting how Asian stars are getting the jump on Hollywood for these new pieces.

The model and former Miss World 2007 winner wore a Trio of Knights printed three-quarter-length-sleeve dress which was full of colour and intrigue, so I guess she made the right choice opting for simple accessories.

Black pumps and a Dolce & Gabbana ‘Ingrid’ top-handle black bag completed her look.

Some of you were unsure how this collection would work off the runway. What are your first impressions?

You can buy the lace version of Zhang Zilin’s Dolce & Gabbana bag from Luisa via Roma.

The dress works just fine with her lipstick, but I don’t like the accessories.

+1 Agreed. The dress is so vibrant.

But I would have liked the look more without the black accessories.

Yep, she needed to go all out.

Love the dress and I think the hair and make up look great with it as well. Shoes are passable but not a fan of the bag – it looks too much like a camera bag to me!

For me the bag is a major distraction, a clutch in a different colour would have worked better. The shoes are also a bit blah, again a different colour would have been preferable to me

Zhang is the extremely tall Asian girl that we had ever seen. Even that I cannot see she pulls this look off. That collection would leave to runway.

    I like it.

  7. katie January 9, 2013 at 14:43 #

I like the dress but hate the bag and shoes

  8. Rebecca Z January 9, 2013 at 16:58 #

I like the colors, but don’t really like this cartoonish print.

The dress is absolutely adorable on her, love it, really dislike the black pumps, even the safe nude pumps would’ve worked better on this occasion.

Actually at the first glance it reminded me of a russian village girl with a bucket of water! :))

    no kidding!!

The dress is beautiful; the bag is hideous

Wow, she pulls off the dress super well! It’s pretty cool and the colors are great on her! I like her hair, lipstick, and the shoes don’t bother me–but I agree with Natalie19 that the bag is like a bucket.

    just not working :(

I think it’s working well off the runway without the runway accessories. I’m not crazy about the shoes she chose, but they are passable. I agree with the others that the bag doesn’t work though- too rigid?

  14. Jess2 January 10, 2013 at 09:04 #

I don’t get the print and nude accessories probably would have been better but she does looks really nice.

  15. TeaAtTwo January 11, 2013 at 01:17 #

Shame about the black accessories because she’s making the wacky print dress look good.
