Mena Suvari In Georges Hobeika Couture – Jamie Kennedy’s New Year’s Eve Party

Mena Suvari In Georges Hobeika Couture - Jamie Kennedy's New Year's Eve Party

Mena Suvari attended the ‘First Night 2013’ New Year’s Eve party hosted by Jamie Kennedy at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday night in Hollywood, California.

The ‘American Pie’ actress wore a Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture frock.

While the colour is very festive, I have to say I’m not too fond of the high neckline on this raspberry cocktail dress with a full chiffon skirt and open back.

I would’ve been tempted to fold that neckpiece under the top to give it a bateau neckline or she should’ve worn her hair up like the runway model.

Black accessories, including a clutch and ankle-strap Monika Chiang pumps, plus wavy tresses falling down her back completed her look.

She hasn’t the style to pull off this look. The outfit looks fuddy duddy on her

I feel as if this outfit is swamping Mena a bit

    This outfit is overwhelming her!

I don’t hate velvet as much as others, I actually have a soft spot (pun intended) for it…but it doesn’t work here. The top should have been cap sleeved with a bateau neckline, and the skirt (though beautiful and full) is too long on Mena. Her hair and accessories do nothing for the look either

On her, horrendous, but I have a feeling Elle Fanning could work that to high heavens.

My Worst Dressed list for 2013 now has a contender.

I don’t like it, the crushed velvet is such bad 80s/90s fashion to me! Plus, the look seems kind of a worse version of the Dior number worn some time ago by Krysten Ritter (

This is bad, even her body proportions look distorted, she looks so stiff, rather uncomfortable to look at. The hair should’ve been up.

I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, it’s not a great look either, but I’m not bothered by the neckline. I think the length of the dress is the wrong part of this look.

She needed to do something–she looks so uncomfortable. This dress just doesn’t work for me and it makes her look like a “little person.” She has neither the height nor the attitude to pull off this silhouette.

    Not a good look.

I think i would prefer if the dress was a small bit shorter on her, and her hair up like you said would have shown off the outfit more, nice colour though!

  13. Christine January 4, 2013 at 14:36 #

    Yep, I agree FC.

  14. J January 4, 2013 at 13:32 #

    Agreed. She should’ve reversed it.
