Carly Rae Jepsen was also one of the guest performers during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013, which was held at Times Square on Monday in New York City.
Like Taylor Swift, the ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer also wore red and black, donning a part-velvet, part-sheer black cropped top with a Sachin + Babi Spring 2013 maxi skirt.
After her performance, the singer tweeted that she wore long johns under her scarlet red multi-layered-tulle embroidered appliquéd maxi skirt, which was a smart idea.
Channelling her inner 80s Madonna, she added black lace fingerless gloves to her look.
An array of jewels, pink lips and wavy locks provided the finishing touches.

I totally agree. It would be better if it sat just 3 or 4 centimetres lower on her waist.
I also wish she has her hair up in a ponytail. I’m tired of this bland hair of hers.

Agree about the skirt completely, not flattering at all. I also don’t like the fingerless gloves, the 80s want them back.
It’s truly amazing how very much better this skirt is with the above-the-floor length and lower waist. It’s the difference between GREAT and AWFUL.
Not only the skirt sits too high, her hair and her top mesh together so it looks like she has the shortest torso ever.

unfortunately carly actually looks preggers in this that image.. which is a real SHAME.
The skirt sits too high on her waist because she hardly has a waist. She doesn’t have to have a small waist like the model, but she should’ve worn something that fits her body. She may have been channeling her inner Madonna, but the outer look screams Bjork, Bjork!
