As 2012 draws to a close Kate Ritchie wanted to see out the year with a bang at the ‘Les Miserables’ Sydney premiere this evening in Australia.
In the absence of Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway, Kate provided the eye candy wearing a custom Steven Khalil gown.
Her red strapless gown with a slit in the bodice and lace inserts in the skirt is quite spectacular.
I’m trying to picture the gown without the inserts and I have a feeling it wouldn’t have been as dramatic so kudos to the designer for thinking outside of the box.
Even though I have a soft spot for Katie, this gown deserves a place on the BDOTW poll as she looks chic and elegant.
Do you agree?

she is pretty but personally i just find this dress rather unappealing and cheap looking.
+1
I agree. The colour is beautiful and the unusual inserts make it a bit more interesting, her styling is nice and elegant, deserves a spot on BDOTW poll imo.
I like the idea of the sheer part, but I’m not really sure what to think about it with the white underlay. But the overall look is beautiful.
Love the gown and her arms looked toned. She’s my choice of winner at the BDOTW poll this week.
Festive and fashionable. Love the inserts. They add so much drama to the gown!
