Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, was crowned Miss Universe at the annual event held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas last night.
Gone are the days when the contestants would wear off-the-rack; they are now wearing couture.
Olivia received her crown wearing a Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture gown.
Her raspberry velvet and muslin gown is beautiful, but I wish she had opted to modify the deep plunge. After all, it was Miss Universe, not Miss Golden Globes.

I think the gown looks tacky on her.
I agree. The model pulls it off just so, but on the right, oh dear.
+1
I agree with you. Gorgeous on the runway, so tacky on her. What a waste of a beautiful gown.
I agree. Boobville.
I agree with you FC that it is a little too revealing!!its a beautiful gown and she is stunning but together its just too much
I have never seen one of these contests, so I must ask: do all the contestants look so…how can I say it…unnatural? I mean, those excessively white teeth, those eyebrows and eyelashes, the heavy make-up…
As for the look itself, all of what I just mentioned cheapen an otherwise potentially interesting gown.
Plus, only girls with absolutely no boobs should be allowed around such deep plunges.
It’s a shame they tanned her so much, probably to have some sort of multi-racial appeal to ‘represent’ America. Many photos that are easily Googled show she is much lighter than this. Either that or model shots are made to make her look lighter? Who knows!
LOL come on! She was stunning! They’re changing the fashion game at Miss Universe, it seems
She is stunning..Nice pic…she reminds me of miss beautiful Cheryl Cole..Congo
I prefer it on the model.
Miss Golden Globes XD jajaja
Bahaha Miss Golden Globes, so hilarious. I also wish that she had altered the neckline but I love that she is wearing 1. Georges Hobeika and 2. Couture. I love the dress.
Congratulations to Olivia on winning and huge congrats to our girl Renae you came third runner up! Perth represent
I loved what Miss Australia wore. It was stunning.
I was watching the segment on the news the gown looked stunning in motion.
I agree with modifying with the neckline.
Huh what?!have pageant contestants always worn high end designers?even off the rack??i never thought they did because they must make them look soo cheap.
I feel we would’ve been wowed if this dress was worn on the red carpet here not so much
She looks like a refugee from 1968 Las Vegas. To much high hair, too much boobage, too much raspberry, too tan. Too terrible.
elegant and chic on the model but cheap on olivia.
+1…the fake …everything included the boobage..the horrible makeup the contrived i am so bubbly and happy image…totally R U I N S the beautiful dress…really fail and hopelessly americanino
Ha ha! golden globes…that’s hilarious F…you’ve really cheered up the most grey day in London…
Tacky, Tacky, Tacky.
If only she had modified that neckline to an elegant higher v-neck–this would have been BDOTW worthy. As it is, it’s tacky. What a shame. The skirt is so lovely.
I have to disagree with all of you. I think Miss USA looked absolutely stunning in this gorgeous gown. After comparing the two pictures, it looks like she did take up on the plunge a little bit compared to the model’s plunge. I think it shows the perfect amount of skin since her legs, back and arms are all covered. Gotta show something and she definitely has the body to do it. Bravo Miss Universe!

Hehehehe… Golden Globes
