Fan Bingbing donned one of her favourite wigs for her appearance on the red carpet for the Bazaar Men’s Style Awards held in Beijing, China on Saturday evening.
Dressed in a Giorgio Armani Fall 2012 black sequin dress with silver detailing, the actress balances a very fine line between looking fabulous and comical.
I’m still on the fence as I’m not sure I can get on board with the copper wig, but I love the wide-brim hat, which is also part of the Armani Fall 2012 collection.
I supposed this look could’ve been worse had she over-styled it with those accessories.
A red Louis Vuitton ‘Alma BB’ shoulder bag and heavy black platform pumps completed the look.
Fabulous or comical?

Over the top as usual
I am on the fence too. I kinda like it.
Hate the accessories, that includes the shoes, bag, hat and wig. She would have looked great without all that.
ITA.
I am not sure if is comical or fabulous, lol¡ But I love her, she always make an effort on the red carpet and I like his choices most of the time.
I don’t like the dress. The hat is great though.
Unlike Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj, even when she goes over the top^, Fan Bing Bin is always fun to watch and always remains elegant and “untrashy”. She is interesting and you can clearly see how much fun she is having. I like the outfit but hate her wig!
agree, she OTT (too much for my minimalist taste) but yes, she’s fun to watch. unlike gaga et al, who are too try hard
I’m afraid it’s a no from me, from top to toe. The dress doesn’t work for me and I don’t like the styling at all. Bring back Princess Fan!
Fell off the fence laughing. Sorry this is definately veering towards comical for me. In fact at first glance I thought it was a witch costume for Halloween. Not a fan of Fan in this outfit.
Fabulous or comical? Hmm… How about fabulously comical? While it is OTT, I love when a celeb is willing to have fun with fashion.
I like the hat–that’s about it.
She does comical well.
I really hate it when she tries to do different or quirky. She looks comically stiff and way too styled…to death and completely meh
COMICAL (!!), costumey, contrived, this is what I call ‘fooling around’ as opposed to ‘having fun with fashion/taking risks’, she is not pulling it off whatsoever, she just looks silly. She should stick to what she does best – ‘effortlessly pretty’.
i cant get past the dodgy wig. the dress on her is beautiful but everything else is terrible.
Comical — although I must say she looks better than the model. I think the dress itself is awful. Then you add the wig, hat, and clunky heels…oof!
As beautiful as Fan Bingbing is, she just can’t help looking pretty. But I do wish she wouldn’t so often aspire to look pretty silly!
comical and ridiculous. Shiny bag lady.
Because of the angle of the hat in the photo this look looks quite Halloween-y! But I think the dress is fabulous
