It’s been a while since we saw Fan Bingbing on the red carpet.
The Asian beauty attended the Esquire Man at his Best 2012 event at Century Theatre in Beijing, China.
Known for her occasional crazy theatrics, she wore a beautiful Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 gown.
Her sleeveless blue-and-green ikat print gown was styled with a rather outdated Balmain bold-shouldered leather jacket and a black shoulder bag.
I’m not sure if the glasses were added for a quirk, or she decided not to wear her contacts on this occasion.

I love it! This is my favorite dress from the collection and I love how fan styled it in a quirky way
Overstyled. As always.
+1
She’s wearing one of my favorite dresses from this collection. Too many accessories.
I actually really like how she looks.
Beautiful dress. Hope to see it on the RC again without the extraneous matter. Her accessories would be perfect for a street wear look with a pair of skinny jeans. I’d like to have the jacket myself.
On second look, I’d like to have the jacket w/o the exaggerated shoulders.
+1 love the dress but the accessories ruin the look
Had she tied her hair, picked a different leather jacket and ditched the bag, I could have been on board.
I don’t mind the glasses.
Same here. Love the gown.
Glad to see her back. The dress is a thing of beauty, the jacket is an ok addition, gives it a casual edge but ditch the shoulder bag and glasses.
Oh, that is such a gorgeous gown with beautiful colors. I hope it makes another appearance on the red carpet with justice done to it. I am sorry but I cannot get on board with Fan’s accessorization!

She totally “offended” this pretty gown with her accessorization, hoping for a re-run too.
+3. Awful.
The dress is beautiful. Love the hair and glasses. The jacket and bag would look great with a pair of jeans, but not this gown.
The styling kills this look. The dress is gorgeous but the jacket and bag detract from it. A rare miss from Fan in my opinion.
I want a rerun. This is an eyeroll.
Three beautiful pieces separately : the dress, the jacket, the bag.Together not cool, trying way too hard to be cool…
It was really cold for red carpet. The temparture was below freezing point in BeiJing. She just came from a film shoot, so I think the glasses were used to hide her tiredness. She was awarded the most beautiful woman of the year at this event though. =)
I find the addition of the quirky nerdy glasses quite intriguing in combination with this fairy-like dress, but the jacket and the bag are just no.
I actually really like this. There’s something super current about the look – despite the shoulders. Sometimes, as gorgeous as she is, she doesn’t always appear particularly approachable; but here she does. I’m not sure if this makes sense, but the take away is that she looks wonderful.
Makes sense to me.
I like it, but it seems like she got lost on the way to the shops and wandered onto the red carpet??
I love this look, I love the fabulous gown and chic jacket. PS :the glasses was cute
Drop the bag and this is one of my favourite looks. I really like the jacket and it’s completely understandable with the freezing temperatures. However i do want to see this gown rerun because i find it so gorgeous.
Love the gown but wouldh have preferred a different jacket. The bold shoulders are so off. Maybe no jacket at all, no bag, and no glasses? Would have liked just a gimmick free look.
that gown is breathtaking
yes, its a bit overstyled, but I do like it
I don’t get it…she’s styling like she’s on a market run.
