Sarah Jessica Parker In Vintage – ‘In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye’ Screening

Sarah Jessica Parker joined her gal pal, Anna Wintour, on the red carpet prior to HBO’s ‘In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye’ screening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City yesterday evening.

The actress wore a vintage rust-coloured short-sleeve dress with a gathered skirt.

As always, she went above and beyond when it came to the styling, adding Fred Leighton jewels and an electric-blue velvet Fendi baguette with a gold fringed detail (thankfully not a cross-body bag).

I adore her lavender-and-pink Jean-Michel Cazabat ‘Emma’ python pumps, which also add some spice to her look.

On paper this may not have been so appealing with the different colours, textures and prints, but SJP is simply flawless here.

I don’t like the bag at all and the shoes are gorgeous but don’t belong to this look. The dress looks nice on her.

I wish I could unsee this….the dress is beauty but why SJP? WHY?

I love the dress, the bag, and the shoes–SEPARATELY. Together it is so very wrong.

  9. Christine December 5, 2012 at 14:54 #

Love everything except for that bag.

I don’t like the bag on this occasion. At first I wasn’t sure what on earth was going on with the shoes in combination with the dress but it is growing on me, rapidly. Love the dress.

Love everything except the bag. It’s not chic enough for my liking.

The rest, especially the combination of the dress with the shoes, is FLAWLESS.

      She’s exquisite <3

Flawless is right, down to the hair and makeup. I love this look and she doesn’t always get it so right.

I like the dress on her but don’t think the accessories work with her dress at all.

Her shoes and bag are great pieces alone, but not with that dress.

Hi….my first time here and I love your blog…I’m fan of SJP way of dressing…in this dress she looks great in the front…but in the back she shows her bra…I didn’t like…looks cheap…xxxxx

    • noo December 5, 2012 at 12:48 #

I agree about the bra, she can do better than that! But interestingly I forgive it because I think she looks marvelous 😀

A lovely look – she is always daring and imaginative – Can we get a photo with the blue coat she wore – I think she even looks better with it – BDOTW worthy

    • Linda December 5, 2012 at 13:28 #

Just checked that out…love it, what a great overall look. BDOTW material for sure.

The shoes are great and interesting choice but if the colours of the dress were reversed with the burnt orange the background and the rust the print it would’ve been better. It all felt more pulled together when she was wearing the royal blue coat on arrival.

She looks good. Love the accessories more than the dress.
