Taylor Swift In Oscar de la Renta – 2012 Ripple Of Hope Gala

The 2012 Ripple Of Hope Gala was held at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City yesterday evening, with the main attraction being Taylor Swift who performed for the star-studded charity event, which was also attended by Dianna Agron.

Taylor wore a lovely Oscar de la Renta gold tulle lame embroidered dress from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.

The country singer, who is giving us a variety of lip shades these days instead of her signature red, accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz earrings, an Ofira bracelet and ring, plus suede Jimmy Choo ‘Cupcake’ peep-toes with a gold platform.

I’m sure some of you will say that this dress is very cutesy, but I feel like styling gives the overall look a mature feel.

Once again, side-swept tumbling locks completed her look.

It does have a mature feel. I could see this someone else much older than Taylor, like in their 50’s. It is a beautiful dress, though.

The dress is cutesy and the shoes are dull.

She’s either cutesy or sparkly. Nothing in between.

Very nice. Love the lame gold pieces on the dress. Thanks heavens for the soft pink lip as stark red would’ve ruined the look.

I like the dress, but its still a Meh for wearing the same cutesy type of dresses every time.

I feel like she has worn this before. I know she hasn’t, but it just gives me a deja vu feeling.

      Same here.

The dress would be nice on anyone it wasn’t so obvious on, but the real tragedy here is her horrible bangs. Way overlong and overthick.

She looks pretty but she’s worn similar looks before.

Taylor’s mostly a one trick pony when it comes to style and here she uses her favorite – sequins.

If she wants us to think of her as mature she needs to look over other parts of her life, lol

      I totally agree! :)

The dress is incredible, but I don’t like the styling – too boring for such a stunning dress.
Plus, as many said and will say, this is too familiar and blah to the core.

She looks good, but I’m starting to get bored with her looks. It feels like a deja-vu, once again. I hope she starts wearing something different, something unexpected. IMO she is not memorable with these last few looks

I don;t get it whenever Dakota fanning wears nude you always says it boring.
yet this is the same thing with Taylor: same shoes, same hair style, same make up and you give her a pass….
I think this is a deja vu.

This is absolutely lovely. I loved her sparkly dresses circa 2009-2010, and this is a return to that approach, only even better. The gold lame gradient affect, as opposed to sequins or glitter, makes this dress less princess-y and more sophisticated. She always has the perfect footwear and earrings too. My favorite from the event.

I will never understand why people like her style so much. She never changes color palette and almost always wears the same silhouette. I am so bored by her. Change it up–and not by just straightening your hair.

  14. Amy December 4, 2012 at 21:40 #

nice dress but still her same style. And the shoes couldn’t be more boring.

Love both the dress and the styling. Thumbs up from me.
But what bothers me is the hair. It has been there in her last look, but I thought it was just bad styling. It looks too big and weird. Are her bangs newly cut and styled differently? It’s a shame really, as I considered the original cut the perfect way how to make fringe work with curly hair.

Everyone’s complaining about it (or most are) but I love it. I missed sparkly Taylor! I wouldn’t change a single thing about this look. It is positively BDOTW-worthy for me.

Same as always then…she ought to mix it up a bit, especially with her body shape, she could get away with a lot of different styles

  18. Alina December 5, 2012 at 16:29 #

After all her recent looks, she can wear something cute. :)
