Olivia Palermo In Alessandra Rich – ‘Valentino: Master of Couture’ Exhibition

Olivia Palermo was in London on Wednesday to attend the VIP viewing of the ‘Valentino: Master of Couture’ exhibition at Embankment Galleries in London.

Usually I get really annoyed when a celebrity attends a designer’s event not wearing the designer in question – especially someone like Olivia, who does have access to Valentino gowns – but I have been dying for a look from the Alessandra Rich Spring 2013 collection to hit the red carpet.

The socialite selected this tri-colour white, baby-blue and black delicate lace dress with a flame pattern.

Her halter dress was elegantly styled with a black collarless blazer, a burgundy clutch and Manolo Blahnik tri-colour pumps.

I went back and forth on her necklace, but finally decided it was a great addition to the look.

This is a BDOTW contender for me. Do you agree?

Absolutely LOVE the gown on Olivia and she is flawless from the neck up – love her hair pulled back into simple elegant ‘do, her makeup and choice of earrings. The blazer and the rest of her accessories aren’t quite working here for me, but overall def. would love to see it up for BDOTW.

    Yes BDOTW for sure!

  5. Abigail November 30, 2012 at 19:43 #

The best we’ve seen her in a very LONG while. I love this look! Definitely BDOTW!!!

  6. Odette November 30, 2012 at 19:55 #

I disagree. I don’t like the necklace or the blazer with this look.

    NOT bdotw.

Agree! The Dress is really pretty on her, but would be better without the necklace and the blazer

+1 and I dislike her shoe choice

      • Christine November 30, 2012 at 23:02 #

I agree. Too busy with the necklace.

I don’t like the shoes much either and the same with the necklace. Not BDOTW worthy for me.

I am missing the belt. Without that, this is not a BDOTW for me.

    • Jones19 November 30, 2012 at 20:51 #

I actually think the belt is overkill on the model. Love that Olivia decided to skip it.

    • Tina November 30, 2012 at 20:54 #

I agree. I much prefer the model’s version.

  8. Aline November 30, 2012 at 21:07 #

I don’t like at all how she ditched the belt and added the blazer and necklace. I love the shoes, but overral it’s a no for me.

  9. Dhppy November 30, 2012 at 21:43 #

This is kind of weirdly wonderful. Her accessory choices are fantastic. She even manages to get away with ditching the belt, something most would not be able to pull off.

Although I have been dying to see a look from this collection too, Olivia can’t pull this look off for me. I love the dress, but I’m missing the belt and I don’t like neither the necklace nor the blazer with this dress. And not to forget that she should’ve worn Valentino to this event.

  11. TeaAtTwo December 1, 2012 at 03:22 #

I still think she should have worn Valentino to this event. It’s a interesting dress but I don’t like the addition of the necklace, I’m fine about the blazer and with it on I don’t mind the lack of a belt though a subtle baby-blue belt might have looked good. The clutch is nice and shoes though not my first choice with this dress are cool.

I am going to have to agree with a few of the others. I dislike the necklace, the shoes and the blazer. I love the dress, hair and makeup.

+1…she never gets the less is more idea right. She is beautiful but somehow tends to look like a bit of a mess…shame

too busy for me. i get an olsen twin vibe from this.

  14. rena December 2, 2012 at 02:03 #

This looks amazing on Olivia, the cardigan tones it down and the necklace added the bit of extra. good job!

  15. tem December 2, 2012 at 20:14 #

Her makeup is flawless and I love this whole look.

  16. Stephanie December 3, 2012 at 20:36 #

She looks beautiful but the dress is completely shapeless on her and does nothing for her. I also don’t think the style of the blazer fits the style of the dress. The blazer seems way to casual. Though I LOVE the shoe choice.
