Just when some of us were about to hit the snooze button on Diane Kruger, she made a splendid return to the red carpet yesterday evening for The Hollywood Foreign Press Association And InStyle Miss Golden Globe 2013 Party held at Cecconi’s Restaurant in California.
The actress wore a Rochas Spring 2013 look.
Made of two parts, the look features a cropped black blouse with white buttons and a voluminous pocketed ball skirt with a thin white leather belt.
While the hair looks a bit straggly, I can totally forgive this misstep as she styled her look perfectly with Chanel black-and-white bow-front ankle boots, which are also a favourite of fellow Chanel ambassador, Alexa Chung.
Yay or nay on the crop top?

The skirt is lovely but the crop top is awful. And it’s not like I’m entirely against the idea of a crop top with this look, it’s just that this particular one is really ugly.
It’s a tragedy… bad hair, those crop tops should be killed with fire – no fashion tendency can excuse that. And I’m not sold with the shoes.
She can do so much better.
As much as I love Diane this is a NO for me. The crop top ruins the entire thing for me.

Really don’t like cropped tops because they look so juvenile, so I have to say this does not work. I’m not sure about the shoes either. A dud for Diane, I guess it happens to everyone!

Thankfully this isn’t as bad as her Cushnie et Ochs look, but still a no on the cropped top and the hair from me.
Eek, I am all “nay” on that top. And not crazy about the boots. I think I don’t like the looks where Diane shows too much skin. She has an absolutely amazing body and looks gorgeous in just about anything, but midriff-baring tacky sexy seems to run counter to her inherent class and just feels all wrong.
On the fence about the crop top but love love love the skirt and I’m CRAVING the Chanel booties.

Remember the Valentino schoolgirl look that Elle Fanning wore a few weeks ago? This is like the trashy version of that…I love Diane but this is a no because of the crop top. THe skirt is super fun, and the shoes are STUNNING–if only she’d paired with a better top.

I think the piece created by rochas is tragic, but to me she pulls it off. I think that she styled it well and to me, she is the only person who could look cool in this outfit.

I wouldn’t call this a BDOTW look but I do really like it, especially because of the shoes as they really make this look. I am so in love with the ankle boots.
I think it is playful and she is having fun–just look at her pose. I wouldn’t label it an iconic style moment, but she looks cute and relaxed.

Those shoes are mighty fantastic. I craved them so much, when they hit the stores in fall 2009 or 2010 or whenever it was. They were crazy expensive though, so I had to pass.

I love everything except the crop top. I love this woman (and I do believe she is the best dressed in the world), but imagine how amazing this would have been with like a sexy black racerback tank top (similar to the top of her Prada dress from the MET Gala). The crop top is over the top in a distracting way.

I was torn half an hour ago when I saw this and remain torn now. But I’ll say this, if it were anyone else I would’ve immediately hated it. So if anyone can pull this off it’s Diane.

Waist down I love it, the booties look great and her face looks flawless but the crop top is not working. I swear she must read this blog because since we all thought she was looked pregnant in that horrid Chanel towel she’s been wearing stuff to show off her tummy still flat and toned.
Awful, haven’t liked her recent outings unfortunately. This time I just cannot get past the midriff, cannot stand them and I think she is too old for it.
