Alexa Chung attended the 2012 British Fashion Awards held at the Savoy Hotel in London yesterday evening.
She won the ‘British Style’ Award, which is decided by the public and recognises an individual who most embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London.
This was Alexa’s third time taking home the award. When I asked her about this, she put it down to her parents just learning to use the internet.
Dressed in a Simone Rocha Spring 2013 black embroidered sleeveless dress, she said that even though she is a tomboy at heart, she loves occasions when she can dress up.
And that she did, by styling her cute dress with Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Belle Epoque’ embroidered mesh booties and a black top-handle bag.
Opting for two hairstyles on the night, she sport wavy tresses on her arrival and a side-swept ponytail in the press room.
Nude lips and kohl-rimmed eyes completed her award-winning look.

I don’t really care for the shoes, but that’s still one hauntingly beautiful shot.
Oh my… Her hair is… brushed.
I am gobsmacked.
brushed and clean…
It is amazing how polished she looks when she puts a brush to her hair!
My first thought as well. She is so stunningly beautiful here and thankfully no crazy hair is bringing down the look. So in love with this dress!
Her hair looks good for once.
I love her hair here. Finally!
I wish she had worn the lime version, but her hair and makeup are such an improvement.
she looks good here, but seriously who votes for her! most of the time she looks terrible.
she is as loved in the industry as she is hated in the blogosphere, it’s very interesting!!!
Well we dont like her on TV in the USA her shows keep getting cancelled. personality is too brash. Her hair does look better here
Im not a big fan of Alexas style but im glad to see her wear Simone Rocha good to see her supporting a Irish designer
She needs to start living up to her style awards. Flat, awkward, one-dimensional, with no regard to her actual age and physique most of the time, whatever it is I can’t call it an award-winning style, more like an awkward attempt at it. She needs to step up her game and start giving us something a bit more sophisticated than the endless cutesy short dresses and a messy hair. She can start by wearing chic age-appropriate pant suits and her hair in a neat hairstyle.
I see an improvement on the hair, but that’s all. I don’t like this look. A white chemise under a black dress? It’s a no from me.
Not my favorite dress from her, but it’s cute and the hair looks GREAT–plus I love the cool shoes so it’s a yes from me. AND YET. She is really not deserving of all the style awards she receives, imo.
For once, I love an Alexa Chung look. Her hair is polished, her dress is nice, but those booties are stunning and compliment the dress perfectly.
I wish she’d worn the sandal version, they’re exquisite. http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/322967
