Amy Adams joined Marion Cotillard and Emily Blunt on the red carpet for the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City last night.
She wore a Giorgio Armani black dress with Lorraine Schwartz green diamond knot earrings and diamond flower ring.
Her chic black part-velvet part-crepe strapless pencil dress, with a sculptural bodice and peplum detail, was styled with black Brian Atwood ‘Zenith’ ankle-strap pumps and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
A part of me is screaming for a bold lip colour, but maybe Amy’s decision to keep this look simple and classic was the right one.
Kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips and a simple bun completed her look.

Love the pointy detail on the dress. It kind of finds the balance and seems to be proportional to the peplum detail. Love it from head to toe. She looks beautiful.
Her hair and makeup look simply flawless! She’s just so beautiful.
However, from the neck down, I’m bored.
It’s a good well put-together look but I don’t think it suits Amy, much prefer softer feminine romantic looks on her – they work so much better for Amy.
I like this look. I like the shoes.
She looks totally stunning. Her choices emphasize this interesting dress and the spectacular earrings. Her hair and makeup are perfect. BDOTW.
I’ll second that.
It’s nice, a bit too avant-garde to me. The black dress + black shoe combo is rather flat. It’s nothing we haven’t seen from Amy before.
This entire look is flawless. I love she kept the accessories to a minimum because the dress with those stunning earrings work perfectly for me. One of my favorite head-to-toe looks on her ever. Gorgeous hair and makeup, too. Excuse me while I go fangirl.
It’s an interesting LBD and she manages to look elegant without being frumpy which she does look sometimes. A better pair of shoes would’ve totally nailed this look.
Those are not the jimmy Choo vamp shoe.
I would have preferred another pair of shoes maybe, but she is still best dressed of the three ladies for me. The dress fits her perfectly and I love her make-up.
Yup!
She is just so stunning for me, in almost anything she wears. I wouldn’t change a thing here. She gives us enough variety on other occasions so that I can appreciate a “simple” but effective look.
I really love this, not feeling the need for a bold lip. The earrings are the perfect touch.
I agree.
It’s so refreshing to see someone without the insane dark lip.
Absolutely adore her!
A tres chic palette cleanser after the Golden Horse extravaganza. Ah, Armani. She looks great.
I couldn’t say better! This is the first time she got a spontaneous wow out from my mouth! Best Amy look ever! The hair & makeup totally sell this look to me!
