The 58th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards took place in London on Sunday evening.
Ruth Wilson attended wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2013 Couture ensemble.
As you know the last two Dior collections have been losing their appeal somewhat for me, since only two actresses appear to be monopolizing nearly all the pieces, so to see someone not on the Dior payroll wearing a look is very refreshing.
The British actress wore a fuchsia corseted dress with a central slit with the cropped black pants we saw on the runway.
Black Dior pumps, a gold cuff and black clutch accessorized her look, with a quiffed updo and red lips providing the finishing touches to her part-feminine, part-masculine look.
Do you think Ruth pulled off this look?

She does to an extent. But I would have loved to see the dress in the same color as the runway.
Apart from that its definitely refreshing!
I think dresses over pants is an always and forever fashion no no Dior or not but she does look pretty here. If only it was a dress only or a top and pants. I like the colour and neckline of the frock.
+1 agree
This is one of my favorite looks of the couture show and no, she didn’t pull it off
its must be tired everytime u want to put ur hand on ur pockets or take something in ur pockets with a dress like this
and i think it’s more be good if the dress was not as long ,as the bodice was stopping at the hips button ,blazer style with this color and black pant would have been better,
I think the outfit looks so much better on the model! :/ I’m sorry Ruth Wilson
i like it!
I’m so disappointed. This is one of my favorite looks from the couture collection and she didn’t pull it off, I feel like there’s something wrong with her make up.. I really wish someone more statuesque wore this look.
Works for me. She looks fab
+1
+2!

better than on model
in a word. no.
I don’t really like the design of the ensemble but she looks great in it
Superb! Chic and modern – this is BDOTW worthy
I love the look on the model, and i like it on Ruth too. However, i think the pants are a size too big and I would love to see this look without the pants.
I like the dress half but not liking it with the pants. She is not selling the look!
This was my favorite look from this collection and Ruth is rocking it with so much sophistication . I don’t ever like dresses with pants, but I love this looks so.much. BDOFTW
never thought the look would work for me but on ruth it works so much better
I loathe the look to start with–it’s burning my eyes! Terrible, terrible. So no, Ruth doesn’t make it work for me. No one could. :O
If you are going to wear a dress over pants than the pants need to be fitted properly. Those are a size too big.
I think it’s difficult to pull such a look off and Ruth did well IMO. The fit of the pants should have been fitted more properly maybe, but that’s not such a big deal. I love the colour of the dress.
This is modern and different from any other design out there. Love ir!!!!
I love the hot pink hue but I think this dress+pants combo works only on the runway. Maybe if she had worn the dress with some elegant shorts and ankle-cuff sandals or if the styling was great I could’ve liked it.
The outfit suffers from major split personality disorder – a weird unappealing fusion, and the red lips are jarring against the fuchsia pink.
She looks amazing – unique and fierce. I love it!
Kudos to her for pulling this look off. I normally hate dress over trousers but I think she manages to look quite chic here.
She looks great!… I just can’t fully get behind the idea of dress over pants in real life.
Wrong. this dress is from Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture collection.
