Scarlett Johansson gave us a new look on the red carpet in New York last night for the ‘Hitchcock’ premiere, which was held at the Ziegfeld Theater.
She wore a Rodarte Spring 2013 dress, opting to wear the black-and-green ivy-trellis-printed dress without the printed turtleneck.
Scarjo’s strapless dress was styled with black Gucci peep-toe booties and a dramatic deep-red lip colour.
I really tried to force myself to like this look, but I can’t.
The shoes are the worst offender, making her legs look very stumpy, and the edgy dress doesn’t suit her classic style.
I would’ve loved to have seen this look on someone like Emma Stone or Leighton Meester.

How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

Leighton Meester would’ve rocked this look with better shoes. The shoes are unflattering but this dress is pretty decent.
+1
I don’t care for the vampy lip with this look either
The shoes are awful, they doesn’t work with the dress. I don’t like her make up too.
Hate it.
The dress is ugly with the black squares.
She should’ve gone all-out glam in a gown.
Leighton would have worked this with the right attitude. Scarlett’s stumpy shoes and ghostly makeup are selling the dress at all.
Talk about never fully dressed without a smile. She looks miserable.
The whole ensemble looks too heavy to me with the dark lip, and solid black shoes.
I might go for a nude or peach lip and shoes.
I actually like this look. I give her props for trying something new. I`m glad she didn`t overdoit with the turtleneck and I don`t hate the shoes. It is true that Leighton or Emma would’ve rocked this look, But Scarlet isn`t doing it wrong IMO.
Agree with everything you said.
From the pictures, the top and bottom of this dress just don’t work together. A bib top with a bright green A and then a bottom with a different shade of green? H2T I can’t stand this look.
Ok I have to disagree with you FC. I think Scarlett looks AMAZING. She really did made the effort to impress on this occasion and she did more than impress me. This has to be one of Scarlett’s more fashion forward looks in her red carpet history. Like Jessica she chose something she wouldn’t normally wear and the results are perfection. She’s selling this look to me from A to Z. I love love love it!!!! FIERCE
I disagree. I like this, it’s something new from her. I don’t even mind the shoes
The look on her face says it all. She knows this isn’t her best look. The dress is so-so, but it’s the shoes that drag this look down. A pair of rockin edgy heels might have saved this. FC this might be a good canidate for some of your shoe choices vs. what Scarlett is actually wearing.
This look is simply not working for sensuous Scarlett, she looks awkward.

-I pressed “submit” a little too fast-
Ugly shoes aside, I don’t mind this look. Scarlett stepped out of her comfort zone, it’s a good thing.
Her hair and make up are so good but the dress is just not working.
WHAT. A. HOT. MESS!
This is just awful. To be honest, I find this dress quite ugly, so I don’t really think I would’ve liked it even if someone else wore it.
Why can’t ScarJo stick to bombshell like looks? It’s her forté.
From the lips, to the dress to the shoes, it’s hard to decide what’s repelling me the most.
Hideous! The shoes are so unflattering. This is actually worse than Jessica Biel. Scarlett’s turned into the biggest fashion victim
If she had better posture she totally could have rocked this look
I like the way the dressed has been modified, with the right shoes she could look good, but these are very unflattering and not particularly beautiful. I like the dark lips.
