Helen Mirren was clearly in a festive mood when she took to the red carpet for the ‘Hitchcock’ premiere, which was held at the Ziegfeld Theater on Sunday evening.
I have to say, for me she upstaged her two co-stars, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana black lace dress with rich gold embroidered details from the Fall 2012 collection.
The black-and-gold theme continued to her Dolce & Gabbana shoes and shoulder bag, with gold drop earrings and a slicked back hairdo completing the look.

if only it was 2 inches shorter and she was not wearing tights…
Such a queen. She did upstage them
She looks amazing.
My thoughts exactly. So much better than Jessica Biel and Scarjo!
I love this lady! She rarely lets me down, fashion and movie-wise.
(and I don’t mind the tights!)
She definitely upstaged them!
Yes, she did, she looks amazing!
She’s beautiful even though I’m not fond of the hair.
This has to be one of the best dressed red carpets of the year. Another stunning look courtesy of the Grand Dame. As always she executed like Queen. She proves that no matter the age you always can look Ravishing no matter what. She don’t have to envy anything about her other two co-stars; she made her own. Three Stunning Women ruled this red carpet together and delivered. SPECTACULAR!!!!! Bravo!!!
Needs to be shorter or longer. This length is not flattering and I hate those shoes. If only it was longer and she had prettier shoes.
Even though she’s much older than her co-stars, I think the tights are frumpy. She doesn’t need the tights.
Gorgeous. She looks spectacular. And, on the issue of hosiery–much better than a stark white leg below this lovely dress.
Ladies have to wear tights at a certain age sometimes, plus on this occasion the dress is quite heavy and has long sleeves, and the black tights balance the heaviness of the dress well.
She looks amazing. What a cool, elegant, sophisticated look. Helen is teaching her costars a lesson
Helen is one fierce lady. The make up and hair is soooo good and the dress is perfect for her, it’s classic yet with some attitude.
God I love this woman.
SHe always seems to upstage all her younger female co-stars too.
I would have preferred the sleeves from the runway and floor-length, but this is certainly better than Jesslett.
Her hair is doing all the work.
She looks amazing!!!!
This premiere was just a trainwreck. Even Helen Mirren who’s flawless in my book wasn’t at her best. This look is better than her co-stars’ but simply because the other two are absolutely awful. IMO, Helen can do much better than this.
I agree. Helen isn’t at her best here but she still managed to look better than her two much younger costars.
“I have to say, for me she upstaged her two co-stars, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel”
+1
Sooo true!
Flawless
I don’t like it. Most of all because of the shoes, she looks like she left the house (or the hotel) wearing her slippers. These kind of shoes need more casual outfits, for me.
