Following Heidi Klum’s failure to set our fashion senses alight at the 2012 MTV EMAs, she gave it another go at the 2012 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in LA on Sunday evening.
She donned a look from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2012 Couture collection.
The TV host wore a gold guipure lace mini dress with a side slit, high neckline, bold shoulders and sheer panels.
Maybe I still have a hangover from Heidi’s fashion failures last week, because I can’t bring myself to get excited about this look.
I don’t know if it’s a case of been-there-and-done-that with Heidi, or that the designer presented 26 looks from this collection and celebs are pretty much wearing the same guipure lace pieces.
Lorraine Schwartz jewels and gold guipure lace Christian Louboutin pumps to match her dress completed her look.

Another unspeakably tacky, trashy, desperate look from Heidi. I wish she’d chill out and let her natural beauty shine through. Instead she wears this tiny little showing-it-all dress that doesn’t end up doing anything for her. *SIGH*
I do like her shoes though, and the lace would be pretty on something else…

Something about this isn’t making my heart throb like it should be. I believe this may be a result of Rita Ora beating the print to death, or maybe it’s because I would’ve preferred this with gold sandals? Although I must admit, I did adore some of Heidi’s past looks that nearly everybody hated.
It makes her look really boxy, which is unfortunate.

The dress is too short, the slit is too high, the silhouette is awfully waistless, and she is too mature for this look, coming across try-hard and tacky.
Totally agree. Nothing is working for Heidi here. Just plain awful. But I sort of understand why she opted for that particular dress, it’s really incredibly gorgeous on the runway model.

I think that its ennoying to you and to me as well, because this collection was amazing like every Alexandre Vauthier’s collections, and yes celebs are all playing it too safe or choosing the same design… I’d love to see look 14 or 20 or 24 i don’t know or better yet if they could look at the spring 2012 collection and use look 18 that i love even if it could be hard to pull off ^^

This is much IMPROVED from that Versace disaster.
But yes, this is a deja vu look from Heidi. I think she needs a style intervention.
It’s a very poor fit on Heidi and the color is a strange shade of yellow-gold that isn’t flattering on her skin tone.
I find this dress both unflattering and trashy. There is no need whatsoever for a slit (especially not that high) on a short skirt.
