Elle Fanning In Oscar de la Renta – ‘Ginger And Rosa’ AFI Fest Premiere

Elle Fanning looked her usual adorable self as she stepped onto the red carpet at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, last night for the ‘Ginger And Rosa’ special screening during AFI Fest 2012.

The fresh-faced teenage star wore a beautiful Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 strapless striped gown for the occasion.

Her green-and-white striped dress was styled with Marni white, gold and nude zigzag bracelets and a white Alice band.

Elle looks to be having a lot of fun with this look. As always it is pretty and age-appropriate.

She looks so statuesque and classy but still retains her youth. Perfect!

      Yesss!

I agree. She is having fun with fashion.

Beautiful silhouette, age-appropriate youthful styling, it’s perfect, agree.

Perfectly said. It is adorable! Plus I love the pinstripes…just lovely. BDOTW-worthy?
If it it had this tiny little white bolero, I would have loved even better…I’ve never liked strapless as they don’t look *finished* to me but you are right, statuesque, classy, and youthful all describe this look.

I completely agree! She looks fantastic!

Another home-run from young star. I love the headband, the bracelets, the color (even if it is too spring).

+1. Love everything about the look!

Dress is really lovely, but the neck’s up is really ugly. A touch of makeup and a bonfire with the headband would do wonders for the look.

    • mia November 8, 2012 at 12:55 #

      agreed.

her headband hairstyle thing is a little strange. and she needs some make up. well MORE neutral make up.

    • Mary Gatto November 8, 2012 at 13:07 #

I have to disagree. At her age, the barely there makeup seems more appropriate… She’s so cute!

      • Hannah November 8, 2012 at 14:55 #

I agree with Mary, she has amazing skin, she barely needs makeup. She always looks fresh, clean and polished, which I much prefer to Chloe Moretz, for example, full-on makeup and pout and Kristen Stewarts needing a shower/ post gym look.

        • kailani November 8, 2012 at 22:48 #

She does have amazing skin, but a lot of times it looks oily and pink. I think she’s beautiful, but I think I would like her looks a lot more with a little bit of oil-control foundation.

    • Moxie November 8, 2012 at 18:47 #

Her natural looking makeup doesn’t bother me, given her age. But the headband has got to go!

      • Princess Chi Chi November 9, 2012 at 05:34 #

        Agreed, lets burn it!

    • Tori November 9, 2012 at 00:23 #

      she’s 14! you can’t call a 14-year old ugly

  5. Ramsay November 8, 2012 at 12:28 #

Wow – this is beautiful and age appropriate – BDOTW worthy

The dress is beautiful on her, but I’m not crazy about the headband. It looks like something I’d wear when I wash my face at night.

    • gabis November 8, 2012 at 13:58 #

Totally agree about the headband. But she looks lovely. Love the dress.

  7. Zissou November 8, 2012 at 13:56 #

I absolutely despise the hair – it looks like a poorly placed wig.

  8. Pedro November 8, 2012 at 14:01 #

    Adorable!

    She looks flawless

  9. Yeliz November 8, 2012 at 14:22 #

“Pretty and age-appropriate” yes, these are the right words for this look.

  10. Hannah November 8, 2012 at 14:51 #

I don’t sually love her looks, but I do love this one. I am not a huge fan of the hair or white headband, to me white in almost anything makes it look cheaper, but I love the rest. She makes such a deceptively difficult gown looks so easy and effortless. Also loving the photos with Stephen Dorff, I know not everyoen di, but I really liked Somewhere!

  11. beverly November 8, 2012 at 14:54 #

it is perfection from head to toe. it’s SO her. the headband, the bracelets, the colors… everything looks like HER, which is great about it. BDOTW. No question.

  12. ash November 8, 2012 at 15:53 #

Love the dress, it’s just soooo fun, loathe the headband, it does look like the headband I’d use before washing my face. Overall, still good though.

  13. Lyvm November 8, 2012 at 20:03 #

This is such a fresh look on her and the shape is divine.

  14. Dhppy November 8, 2012 at 20:13 #

It’s funny, I’m rarely impressed with Oscar de la Renta on the runway, but a celebrity almost never goes wrong wearing his clothes. She looks lovely, and about 18 feet tall.

  15. kailani November 8, 2012 at 22:45 #

Love it! She looks so pretty and fun!

  16. Kathy November 9, 2012 at 01:19 #

Loathe the headband, and perhaps she needs a little bit more makeup just because the lighting seems to wash her out(this is a consistent issue, but Elle is only 14 so I’m not TOO concerned). Otherwise, I really like the look. It makes Elle look super-tall and it’s sweet but not icky.

I heart the Fanning sisters. Hope she doesn’t grow up to be like Miley Cyrus, fashionwise.
This gown looks refreshing and age appropriate on Elle.
