Marion Cotillard’s next stop on her promo tour for her latest movie was Grauman’s Chinese Theatre where she attended the premiere for ‘Rust and Bone’ during the 2012 AFI Fest in Hollywood, California, last night.
The actress has been wearing a lot of black Dior dresses lately. On this occasion it was cream-and-black.
Her halter-style dress with a draped skirt with a central split revealing a shorter shirt might not have been your first pick for Marion, but for me it’s a lot more interesting and playful than her previous Dior looks which became samey to say the least.
This look shows a lot more personality and the sparkle I was missing has returned.
Marion’s favoured rolled-and-pinned hairstyle was replaced with a chic updo on this occasion, as she opted for smoky eyes and a nude lip colour.
Chopard jewels and black Dior criss-cross sandals completed her look.
Yay or nay?

dont like a single thing about this look.
+1 Tell it! There aren’t enough NAYs in the world for this.
It’s been a while since I had this WOW factor from her. She looks gorgeous!
LOVE.
It manages to be both classical and modern/on trend.
Plus, her makeup is great.
She looks stunning, the outfit works on so many levels!
A big Yayyyyy !!! If someone can carry this look to the hilt, its Marion. Glad she came out of the similar dresses zone.
YAY
I think she looks great – this dress is interesting and flatters her body – i also think a dark make-up works best on her – I do however wish she was mixing it up a little, wearing Dior but also other designers – but again she is very beautiful here
I am cold just looking at her. I really do not like this at all
so Yay!
Not a fan of this type of dress, but I love her from the waist up. Gorgeous hair and makeup and I love the top half of the dress. I have to say that her scrunched shoulders are a distraction.
+1 I am not a fan of these apron dresses that keep appearing on the red carpet.
yay. I really like it.
Absolutely yay for me!
IMO, this is the best she’s looked in a long time. I know a lot of people aren’t fans of dresses with central splits, but I absolutely adore this one on Marion. She’s definitely one of my BDOTW.
+1
Massive YAY for me!
Love this fun look. She is showing variety in her dress choices. She looks good!
I love it!!!
Yay yay yay! I love everything about this look. BDOTW worthy for me.
BIG YES (!!!) from me too. BDOTW worthy, agree.
Yay!!! Playful, edgy and seductive Marion!
I’m surprised to be liking this, but i do! She looks chic! Is this custom?
Stunning dress!
It’s a yay for me. She looks very chic.
I really dislike this dress. It combines so many things I dislike…but why do I like it on Marion? Haha
Love love love it!! Haven’t been excited by her red carpet style lately – but here she looks great!! BDOTW ?
Thank God for this… I was starting to get really bored by Marion, but this is more like it. It’s modern and playful but very chic and sophisticated at the same time. Love it
Fantastic!
i LOVE it!
I love it, but it reminds me a bit of Emilia Clarke’s Emmy dress. Stunning nonetheless
I don’t care what she wears, I think she’s absolutely delightful either way but I do agree FC that this is one of the better looks she’s worn recently.
YAY!
I think overall, she looks good, but the first time I saw the dress, my reaction was, “that is such a weird Dior dress”.
I think she looks absolutely beautiful. The bottom of the dress isn’t my favorite, but when you look that good, who cares? And I really like the shoes
Amazing! This is BDOTW in my eyes!
LOVE!
She looks amazing!
BDOTW for sure
The updo makes it look like she chopped off her hair from the front. What a shame…it has too much of an androgynous feel and takes the outfit, which wasn’t spectacular to begin with, down another notch. Nice shoes though.
Freakin love this. Look of the week.
I completely love this look, her hair and face look so beautiful and the dress looks really interesting on her. I agree, look of the week, she is stunning.
Yay!!!
Fantabulous!
While she does look full of life the dress is horrible.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I love this look
a big, fat YES
Please put this on the BDOTW list – everything about the look is stunning!
I love love love. She exudes elegance in Christian Dior
YAY!! (Sorry, I used capitol letters).
A definite YAY from me! I am so in love with this look! BDOTW without a doubt.
this looks like a less exciting version of Emilia Clarke’s Chanel dress (Emmys).
Anyway she looks nice
Mhm, must agree. Can’t say I love the dress or styling. Don’t like how short the black skirt is. I really did not think this dress was Dior on first glance.
This is so gorgeous! Not many would be able to pull this off, but she does it beautifully.
anyone know what season this dress is from?
