Zhang Jingchu In Tom Ford – 2012 Top Life Figaro Ceremony

Zhang Jingchu attended the 2012 Top Life Figaro Ceremony in Beijing, China, on Saturday evening.

The Asian actress wore one of my favourite looks from the Tom Ford Fall 2012 collection.

I have been waiting for this sexy part-sheer-part-velvet gown to hit the red carpet, mostly because I was curious to see how it would be accessorized and I wondered how the wearer would get around the fact that you can’t wear a bra with this gown.

Thankfully Zhang kept the gold corset belt. Without it I think the look would’ve lost most of its appeal. The bra issue was a non-issue as she doesn’t appear to be in any danger of a wardrobe malfunction.

I have a feeling Fan Bingbing would’ve piled on a lot of ghetto gold with this look, but Zhang opted to go sans jewels for her look.

She looks decent but she is not wowing me.

She looks too sweet to really pull off this look – not bad just another dress with a lot of potential that isn’t done justice in my opinion

She is WAY TOO SWEET (and petite) to pull off this daring look, this was also my 1st thought. I’d like to see someone with fierce attitude working it.

I really don’t like it. She doesn’t have what it takes to pull off such a dress and the modification plus lack of complimentary golden accessories made it even worse.
As for fact that you can’t wear a bra with this dress, to hollywood celebrities I really don’t think it can be considered an issue.

What was she thinking with those black shoes? Gold strappy sandals would’ve been perfect.

      +1

Fan Bingbing is too sweet for this particular look. Kate Beckinsale, Charlize Theron or Olivia Wilde on the other hand, woowsa.

All Asians are not the same. She is clearly not Fan Bing Bing

Olivia Wilde would have been awesome in this.

I like it, but I’m not wowed. She could have used a few accessories, like a gold cuff.

Different shoes and no belt. I think the belt is too big for her. It makes her look like she has no waist. Sandals would have been better. She needs some earrings and a cocktail ring.

It’s like putting a nun in a sexy dress. Not working at all. Leave this type of dress to the Rosie Huntington-Whiteleys out there.

Id have loved to see the long sleeve version and some gold accessories, not ghetto gold level, but maybe gold cuffs like in the lookbook

The braless/risque nature of this does not work for me, although I like the gold/black velvet combo. But the sheer part of the dress is a no from me.
