Lara Bingle In Camilla and Marc – Caulfield Cup Day

Lara Bingle attended the Caulfield Cup Day at Caulfield Racecourse Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.

I was delighted to see the socialite finally wearing something that doesn’t look like she was trying too hard, wearing a Camilla and Marc black jumpsuit with gold button detailing.

That was until I saw the ear accessory.

No doubt inspired by the styling from the Rodarte Spring 2013 presentation, Lara added a diamante ear cuff to her look instead of a more traditional oversized hat for the occasion.

Do you see this ear accessory trend taking off?

that thing on her ear is ugly. the jumpsuit is nice on her though.

Not a fan of the boring jumpsuit, or the comical, elf-like earpiece. It’s like a couture blue-tooth or something, lol.

    socialite?? lol no. Sorry FC

A jumpsuit to the races??? Its nice but i wouldn’t wear one. The earrings are horrible, but this look is better than her last.

Totally with you T, on every single point!!

      Well what is she then?

Every time I refer to her as something you tell me I am wrong, so what is she?

      • T from Sydney October 22, 2012 at 22:51 #

She is an ex-WAG who has a reality show. Shes famous for being famous.

She’s the Australian Kim Kardashian, not really famous for anything in particular. Perhaps you could call her a ‘personality’ ? x

  4. Lara October 22, 2012 at 13:54 #

Unfortunately, yes I do see it taking off.

Only Indian women can pull off these ear accessories. It has got something to do with their combination of enigmatic eyes, dark hair and beautifully brown skin. Also, the precious silks and chiffons that they cover their heads with.
Let’s not start referring to these as Rodarte inspired, please!

    • Fashion Critic October 22, 2012 at 15:00 #

I will assume that Lara isn’t too familiar with Indian traditions. Neither am I.

As this is a fashion blog, I am referencing this look to the most recent sighting of this type of style: that is Rodarte.

      • TheSnobsman October 22, 2012 at 19:36 #

Oh I get that. I didn’t mean to sound like a prude. I love Rodarte. And Marchesa and Chanel, all three of whom showed Indian-inspired collections recently. In an ideal world, I wish people knew more about each others’ cultures. But since this is not a post about Indian identity, we’ll leave the discussion to Lara Bingle’s sartorial choice.

I do really appreciate your blog, FC. I’ve learnt so much. (Footwear has never been the same for me)!

Lara has a following in India as she was previously engaged to the Australian cricket captain. She filmed an episode of her reality show there this year.

Love the ear cuff. My grandma in India used to wear one like this all the time…

  7. Emma October 22, 2012 at 14:57 #

The jumpsuit is nice enough, but the ear piece is so out of place. It looks ridiculous

    • Rebecca Z October 22, 2012 at 16:25 #

+1. You said this so nicely.

  8. Nat39 October 22, 2012 at 19:25 #

The ear cuff is jarring and gimmicky, I can see it only perhaps as part of a singer’s/dancer’s performance look.

Ear cuffs are my favorite trend of the season. I’ll grant that these look elf-like on account of the spikes, but I adore how she wore them: having similar earrings on her other ear makes it look like she really thought it through. Also, it’s hard not to look overdressed with these so I guess the jumpsuit is an ok choice.
