Yasmin Le Bon apparently didn’t read the invite for the Chanel: The Little Black Jacket private viewing which was held at the Saatchi Gallery in London last night.
Instead of wearing a head-to-toe Chanel look like the rest of the herd, she wore a Christopher Kane Fall 2012 dress.
Her structured silk moire dress featuring a solid leather collar and yoke, square-shaped leather piping detail throughout, slip pockets at the front, and a self-tie leather rope belt at the back would’ve made her stand as the most fashion-forward person on this red carpet.
The model styled her look with black open-toe booties and a black clutch.
Was Yasmin right to go off brief, or would you have preferred her to wear a classic Chanel look like the rest?

Probably it wasn’t such a good idea not to wear a Chanel look at Chanel party but she does look better than most of the others – the dress is interesting (although makes her look rather boxy) and edgier footwear works well with it.
+1
I totally agree with Nat39
one world: horrendous
The dress is interesting, but she should have worn Chanel.
I agree. It shows respect.
She looks like she just stepped off the Battleship Gallactica. Hideous.
seeing the last chanel runway, I can’t hold it against her.
most of the new chanel is hideous so i am glad she opted for this dress
That a Christopher Kane dress was one of my favourite outfit at a Chanel event is indication of my indifference towards most of Karl Lagerfeld’s recent collections and blah choice of muses. I’m not a fan of the booties though.
I agree that it is probably more respectful to wear Chanel… however do they actually really state in thier invites that attendees have to wear the brand? If so, then I do think it is rude to ignore a dress code instruction!
Cool on the runway, not so much on the red carpet. It falls very flat–boxy and not flattering, with those try-hard booties.
