Back in April Fan Bingbing attended the opening of a new Valentino boutique in Beijing, China.
She wore a beautiful floral embroidered Valentino floor-length dress from the Spring 2012 collection.
Opting for a gimmick-free look, the actress wore her hair back and applied a coral lip colour.
Olivia Palermo wore the same dress a few months later when she attended the 2012 Brazil Foundation Gala Party in New York City.
Unlike Fan Bingbing, the lining of Olivia’s dress only reached above the knee. She also opted for a raspberry-coloured belt with gold hardware.
Also wearing her hair back, the star opted for a fresh-faced look and a bronze satin clutch.
I’m going to give this one to Fan Bingbing, only because I prefer the length of the lining of her dress.

I much prefer Palermo’s choice of accessories, but on the whole she looks overwhelmed by the dress, while Bingbing carries it with ease.
I go with neither, considering that it is a rather ugly dress. If it wasn’t Valentino, neither of these women would wear it.
Fan wore it better because of the lining and she fills out the dress.

Fan looks amazing in this! I agree about the lining, but would add that her pick of belt is also more fitting than those chosen for the model or Olivia.
I think it’s a pretty, ethereal dress, but Fan’s lining is 10x better…not only because of the length but because of the scoop neck (Olivia’s has a sweetheart neck) and the fact it fits her better. I do like Olivia’s clutch, though.

It’s even easier to notice how badly Olivia wore this dress when you put those pics side to side.
The comparison also makes Fan Bingbing look better than I thought on first sight.
