Lady Gaga was spotted leaving her hotel yesterday in Milan en route to her concert wearing yet another Versace dress.
Not just any old Versace dress, but the iconic black safety-pin dress with plunging neckline and cut-out sides which made Elizabeth Hurley famous back in 1994.
Gaga is rocking the look, I can’t deny that, but I can’t help but feel like this one should’ve stayed in the vault.
I mean, you wouldn’t get someone trying to remake Michael Jacksons ‘Thriller’.
Should this gown have stayed in the vault, or do you love that she brought back a classic?

this is possibly one of the most tackiest dresses ever, elizabeth hurley managed to make it look somewhat classy though, gaga looks like a cheap hooker.

While ago i wrote to you FC saying this was one of my fav dresses of all time, one of the reasons i went in to fashion.
When I saw these my gut reactions was “Oh no that B**** didnt”

While I appreciate Lady Gaga’s style, I think this was a true miss on all levels. This dress belongs to Liz Hurley and Gianni it should stay in the vault.
I just don’t understand why something that was such an iconic moment in fashion and pop-culture history would have been repeated in such a manner.

This dress should not have been taken out of the vault, especially not for Lady Gaga. She can’t even let the dress speak for itself, she has to bring the fake ponytail, the stripper shoes and her boobs? Hmm one word: support.

I don’t think anyone but Liz Hurley in that moment could rock this dress as well, but I also think Gaga brings her baggage with it. I wonder if I would object if it were someone else? Not sure, but I don’t think Gaga pulls this off.
Liz Hurley aside, she does look ok to me. Why she adores that type of shoe I don’t understand, but she looks dramatic. However, I just hate the concept of recycling something like that. The 1994 version worn by Liz Hurley looked gorgeous, and Gaga resurrecting old Versace pieces is actually quite audacious in my opinion. They had their time in the limelight, now leave it be.

Even though I LOVED the red Versace she wore the day before, I think this should have stayed in the vault. Also, you can’t one over something that was already fabulous. Elizabeth made that dress iconic you can’t outdo that. Gaga looked stunning in the red gown, why can’t she leave it at that. The shoes are HORRIBLE AND HORRENDOUS with this gown, that alone is making me sad to see this dress on her.
OK, so I really dislike this gown to begin with–very trashy and revealing imo. Again, I’m not a Versace girl. That said, this woman has a knack for ruining whatever she wears.

I always thought this dress was slutty and tacky to begin with. Being a big Gaga fan my first reaction was to laugh in delight at her daring to wear THE dress. I don’t think it was a case of trying to look good but more a message – I have access to ANY Versace dress. I think it was more Gaga just exerting power. Like she wore one of the most iconic dresses in fashion history – to walk from her hotel to her car…. to me that’s bad ass!
