On Sunday, Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the New York premiere of her latest movie ‘Won’t Back Down’ at the Ziegfeld Theater.
The actress wore a Lanvin Resort 2013 dress.
Her colour-block salmon-and-black silk dress with a cascading ruffle may seem like an incredibly laidback look for a premiere, especially when paired with Lanvin sandals, but I have to say it works for Maggie.
Whilst her approach may seem laidback, she did make an effort to style the look with a chic updo, smoky eyes, pink glossy lips and an armful of gold bracelets.
It’s a thumbs up for me.

I love this–not usually a big fan of hers but she looks amazing.
Exactly what you said!
I rarely like Maggie’s looks but I do love this one.
The best she has looked in a while.
It’s thumbs up for me too. It’s a flawlessly executed look, and Maggie is carrying it off really well.
+1
Thumbs up for me too. She looks amazing, I really like it.
Might be the only one not liking this look.
This is such a beach look but don’t know why I like it.
Lovely and unique, just like her!
Don’t like the dress at all. The shape is not working. I do like the two-tone effect and the color combo. I like her hair and makeup.
Maggie, Leslie Mann (but she is the most glamourous of the four), Gemma Arteron and Kristen Wiig all have very low-key, no-fuss, easy but put-together senses of style.
This look works for her.
I can’t get past those shoes on the red carpet.
This is a complete win for her.
this is a great look for a beach party, but a red carpet event no.
dress – YES
shoes – NO
I’m not exactly crazy about it, but it suits her.
J’adore.
It’s clear: only Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ines de la Fresange can make flat sandals work on the red carpet.
I think the dress is pretty hideous? Am I the only one? I do not like the two tone split.
I’m with you. Beach wear! :[
j’dore lanvin, its different
it works for her. love it
