Zooey Deschanel was one of the many actresses lucky enough to have a gown custom made for the 2012 Emmy Awards, so why does she look so unhappy?
The stunning actress often veers too far into the ‘quirky’ territory when it comes to the red carpet, but on Sunday she just looked gorgeous in her custom Reem Acra gown.
Her pale blue strapless sweetheart neckline tiered tulle gown has just enough old-school glam to fit Zooey’s aesthetic, but the modern laser-cut detailing has me dying for more.
Fuchsia-pink lips and a bouffant low bun complete the look.

Madly deeply in love with this dress on Zooey. Adore the hair and makeup too.
Idk why but the second I saw her pics, I was on the floor laughing so hard. Her painful expression is so unintentionally funny for me.

A bit costumey but it works. On the Emmys and for Zoey.
Love the color, adore the beautiful, beautiful skirt but not the meh, lowriding top. I think this look is very close to (in all but color) look 13 of the Reem Acra Resort 2013 collection. I wish Zooey had ditched the bangs for this occasion and opted for softer makeup.

I love this dress, she is usually a disaster on the red carpet IMO, or has been recently, but there is no hint of dowdy school teacher in this outfit at all. A cocktail ring would have made it even mroe amazing, but in my eyes a cocktail ring makes everything more amazing. I just wish she knew how ot pose, she looks uncomfortable and her posture is awful.

I love the gown, it’s stunning, but it’s sitting too low and her facial expression bothers me too much. She had a chance to make this look one of her best looks ever, but she failed a bit.

I’m just amazed with this perfect gown. I love Zooey so much and this Reem Acra just looks gorgeous on her…I don’t think that she usually fails on the red carpet, she has a very personal style and knows what’s best for her figure,no matter what the trends are.
