It was impossible to miss Julianne Moore on the red carpet on Sunday evening at the 2012 Emmy Awards.
The stunning actress wore a Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture look.
Her long-sleeved yellow Dior full silk skirt with a knitted cashmere top either wasn’t as sheer as the runway version or, unlike the model, she wore a bra with this gown.
The actress kept her look simple, wearing Fred Leighton jewels.
Loose red waves and a red lip complete the look.
Love it or hate it, I’m sure this will be the look everyone will be talking aobut tomorrow.

Usually I find her clothes appalling… but this time I think she looks fab – head to tow. Yellow is not an easy color to wear, but she looks great. And thanks for wearing a bra!

I usualyl love a look liek this, simple, sleek, and in an interesting colour, but I absolutely loathe this ook. I think that it’s unflattering, I hate the chartreuse and it honestly looks cheap.

This clean simple look is all about the silhouette which fails to excite on Julianne – the dress is calling for a more defined smaller waist. The hair should´ve been pulled back into an elegant ´do.
Even with a defined waist, I feel like the placement of where the top ends/skirt begins is still awkward.

I was honestly not thinking of Julianne Moore when I see this dress. I’m not surprised that I don’t like it. i wish someone more statueque wore this instead.

I really appreciate the risk she took and how hard she tried but this doesn’t work for me in any way shape or form…I love yellow but it just is nowhere for me in this case.
Well I think she looks stunning! Her and Leslie went one up over everyone and gave us something unexpected for the Emmys and I think it works and is miles better than some others who wore all-out gowns.
I think her figure looks terrific – OR are people looking towards the left at the TOO stick-thin model on the runway and thinking the outfit should look like that? Julianne has a terrific figure – I can agree that it looks awkward below her bra – but I don’t think this is unflattering whatsoever.
Agree, a great dress for her. I like it more on Julianne than on the model, also her accessories are better. And wearing a bra was a very good idea

Jumping on the waist band wagon. I was going to say hate it, but with the right belt, I might have said loved it. But with the way it is, not flattering.

I love this bright color for her. The shape is moderne and the long sleeves a little unusual for a red carpet dress. The yellow colors is gorgeous with the red lips and her hair. Another hit!! LOVE xxx sara
I think at first glance, she looks great, and the color is fantastic against her skin tone and hair, but after analyzing it a bit further, it’s not actually that flattering. Maybe if the skirt weren’t so high-waisted?
First of all she looks beautiful, I love her hair and make up. The dress itself is beautiful, but her waist seems so wide, so I’m not enthusiastic about the fit.

I think this look needed her hair in an updo and some interesting jewels. I feel like this would’ve been so fashion forward with unique pieces/emerald accessories because this looks really lacking to me.

I think Julianne poulls it off… but I’m not so keen on the waist style of theis dress on her. Not sure if a belt would have rectified this – maybe a nice bold pattern or jewels?
Aside from not having much waist definition I think it’s a bold look that she pulls off. Love the beautiful colour.
I’m astonished so much people hate this look lol, it was one of my favorites. I think she looks stunning and breathtaking! I love everything about this look, even her loose waves as her hair colour looks great against the yellow dress.
She looks amazing even in comparison to the runway model. I do love the model’s neck cuff but I don’t think it would work on Julianne, so I’m glad she opted for a bracelet instead.

I LOVE the dress, but watching the Emmys yesterday I noticed it was doing a lot of awkard things on her chest area. She obviously did the right thing in wearing a bra, but she should have chosen a different one (maybe this was strapless?).
So unpredictable from her, but oh so lovely, she’s a vision!

I can’t get past how high the skirt is on Julianne. That can’t be comfortable for her boobs when she’s sitting down.
I love the minimal design of this gown and the color on Julianne, but the fit is kinda awkward around her waist. She needs a bejeweled neck brace as seen on the runway with her hair tied back in a ponytail so as not to accentuate her slightly bigger middle. I think someone with a nipped waist might do better in this gown.
Love the look. It is unfair to compare her with the model maybe about 18th years old, but anyway she looks amazing.

The problem is not exactly the size of her waist, but how close the waist detail is from her breasts. The waistband should be smaller and placed a bit lower, that would give the impression of a more defined waist. The way it is it basically looks like her breasts are sitting on the waistband and the bra makes that even worse. That ill-fitting detail aside, I still think she looks magnificent and is one of the best dressed of this event.
