Anne Hathaway joined Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet for the 2012 New York City Ballet Fall Gala, held at the David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center, yesterday evening.
She also wore a Valentino gown from the Fall 2012 Couture collection, but her long-sleeve gown had more of a fall-like feel, signalling the end of summer.
Her dark-green embroidered gown with a colourful print was styled with a Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch.
As always, Anne looks so regal on the red carpet; Valentino gowns continue to serve her so well.
Many of you couldn’t get behind this cropped hairstyle, but I love the style. I think she’s really grown into the look.
Kohl-rimmed eyes and diamond stud earrings completed her breathtaking look.

So stunning and magical! A BDOTW contender for me.
+1!
The fabric is stunning. Absolutely stunning. I’m glad she went for simple styling and let the dress speak for itself.
Absolutely adorable! Stunning! BDOTW contender IMO!
She looks great. I think she looks cute with his haircut even if it’s a huge change, but she did for a movie, it wasn’t her choice.
Actually it was her choice. She gave the idea to the director.
At first I didn’t like it. But then I saw the other pictures… OMG! Stunning! BDOTW for me!

I still prefer her long hair, but this is a great look and the pixie works well with it (it gives great contrast). BDOTW worthy for a stunning look with flawless execution.
LOVE every bit of this look!!
omg, breathtaking! BDOTW
she looks amazing, so sensual
the haircut is perfect imo, she has such a sweet pixie face.
I love her hair on her, but I clearly am exclusive in hating this look. I find the gown really overwhelming, with it’s huge sleeves, big skirt, high neck and lack of any body definition, I just find it really unflattering and ominous looking. I also don’t like the print, I find that the dark coloured flowers on the dark black and brown background looks like murky pond water to me.
+1. The fabric is drowning her petite frame and she looks like my grandmum’s curtains or table cloth
No, you are not alone. I don’t like it either. “Murky pond water” lol, couldn’t have described this muddy, not moody, color better.

I could see this on Florence Welch, but it is overwhelming Anne. Too dark, too much fabric…
I actually agree with you. If this was a sleeveless gown I would love it on her but I have to say that I’m just not over joyed about this look on Anne, I was saving this gown for Florence Welch.

Also, as you say “Valentino gowns serve her so well”, she clearly agrees because she is going to be wearing a custom Valentino wedding gown to walk down the aisle.

I also don’t like this dress. It feels too conservatice and the print isn’t really my taste. However, although I’m not a fan of short hair, I like how it looks here.
I am growing to like her hair more and more. That said, the dress is not really working for me. All I see is too much fabric.
Love the dress and usually she has perfect hair and make up. Though I love the crop hair on her, feel she should have made it a little more soignee, more Leslie Caron sleek.
Gorgeous! And I love her hair – I only wish I had the nerve to cut mine like that (and look as great as she does!).
I dont like this dress even though the print and fabric of the dress is beautiful. But the long sleeves destroy the whole look for me it looks just so overwhelming.
She looks like a fairytale come to life. That dress is beautiful and I love what this hair does to her face and everything. Very gamine.
OMG!! She’s never looked better. This is BDOTW material for sure. Everything works together to create a lovely, ethereal feel. She reminds me of a wood nymph or a fairy – only is the best way possible!
makeup is amazing but this dress is too baggy on her,I hate the sleeves…Looks better on model tbh.
I agree that she has grown into the hairstyle–plus it looks like the cut is more sophisticated. I am on the fence about the dress though I agree she is wearing it really well. Not really loving this trend of filmy voluminous floral print or embroidered dresses (SJP, Anna Wintour, this one, etc) I like the concept, but the dresses all seem to be too overwhelming.
This is just too much frump for Anne.
looks as if the dress is made form a old ladies bed spread.
This is a great dress on……..Florence Welsh .
Wow, she looks like a supermodel, though I think the dress is a little big on her.
This is such a stunning gown and she wears it well. The print is perfect for for fall.
I absolutely hate this gown on her. It has too much fabric and it makes her look mumsy. This style fits Florence Welch better. :/
