Olivia Palermo In Valentino – 2012 Brazil Foundation Gala Party

Olivia Palermo and her beau Johannes Huebl attended the 2012 Brazil Foundation Gala Party, held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City yesterday evening.

Fresh from her stint in London for Fashion Week, she showed no sign of jet-lag dressed in a Valentino Spring 2012 gown.

Her beautiful long-sleeve floral embroidered sheer gown with long bell-shaped sleeves was teamed with a raspberry coloured belt, pearl stud earrings, a selection of rings, and a satin clutch.

A tight bun and neutral makeup completed her look.

You may remember that Fan Bingbing wore this same dress back in April.

Do you like this look on Olivia, or do you find the floral details overwhelm her petite frame?

I wish I didn’t see her legs. Not liking the sheer at the bottom.

  2. Ellie September 20, 2012 at 21:20 #

Yes, a little overwhelming, but she looks gorgeous, let’s be honest!

Wish the dress was fully lined (except for the sleeves). Overall I find all this floral detailing a tad frumpy on her esp. teamed with the tighly pulled back hair. With a pretty soft ‘do, this would’ve worked better.

the dress looks 10x better on fan bingbing. I also preferred if she did her hair similar as the model, a braided updo wouldve looked better on her …

      +1

    Definitely overwhelmed.
She also should have opted for a longer slip under her dress. I’m also not a fan of her hair. It may be her signature but it doesn’t go with every outfit -_-

Olivia definitely looks overwhelmed by the dress. Fan Bingbing OWNED this look. Olivia doesn’t come close.

A bit overwhelming, yes. And I also prefer the runway and Fan’s version with the fully lined skirt.

And excuse me while I can’t take my eyes off of Johannes.

I agree with you, the dress is overwhelming and too long. It looks like a luxury curtain on her…

Not loving this. a rare miss.

    LOVE Johannes <3
    Haha
Anyway, this is flat on Olivia. Fan Bing Bing wore it SO much better.

I like it far more better on Freja.

  11. Sarah September 21, 2012 at 04:42 #

Fitted and lined skirt to accentuate her smaller frame.

I think she could pull this off. I do prefere the hair on Freja. God I miss Freja Beha Erichsen! When will she return on the runway. She’s the face of Maybelline now. Anyways….

I do like it on Olivia and Johannes is just a great accessory isn’t he.

Can I ask… FC! What do you think of Anna dello Russo for H&M’s collection? Just a thought because I remember reading here something about you and her on Dolce and Gabbana. Am I right? :)

    Bad …

It’s overwhelming. I think it’s because of the styling, not the dress itself or her frame. The short slip with a sweetheart neckline, the dark belt, the mismatched clutch – too much happening with the dress.

If she had worn a long slip with a closed neckline and left every accessory (besides the man) home, this would’ve been fine.

Confused as to why she didn’t save this for the New York City Ballet Fall Gala.
