As a huge fan of ‘The Good Wife’, I was delighted that Martha Plimpton picked up the award for ‘Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series’ for her role in the show at the 2012 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday evening.
She took to the red carpet prior to her win looking sensational wearing a Christian Siriano Fall 2012 gown.
The black gown with a corseted bodice and tulle draped detail had a fish scale-like patterned skirt which trailed off into a beautiful train.
She styled her look with a shimmering Judith Leiber clutch and Fred Leighton jewels.

I loved this gown on the runway and I think Martha should have styled the tulle detail exactly like the model. I don’t like her version.
she looks incredible.
Love the gown.
Loved this on the runway–she looks great but I kind of wish that the had opted to keep the sheer detail the same. it was so elegant!
I wish her hair was more polished. Everything else is great.
Gorgeous dress!
does she wear a Scarlett A ? Like Hester Prynne.
Gorgeous gown, her figure looks amazing in it but what I see from the neck up (I’m sorry) is bringing the whole look down for me – perhaps with a better more elegant hairstyle and makeup this could’ve worked.
…or perhaps if she wasn’t smiling so vigorously and instead projected more subtle classy elegance with her facial expression, this would’ve been great.
I too love the tulle on the runway better. I also think hair & makeup is terrible. I hate to say it because I love Martha!
The dress really is beautiful and fits her nicely, but why did she chose to wear the scarlet A? Is that just a reference to her favourite book/movie or a statement? Makes me scratch my head.
I thought it was for like AIDS awareness!
copied from another blog –
“She started an organization called A is For to highlight feminist issues and awareness of recent challenges to areas of women’s rights. I think she was motivated by the Sandra Fluke controversy.
Also the ribbon is referencing the Scarlet Letter.
“
I don’t like this it makes her look way too old! i remember last years at the emmys she looked young and sexy! hopefully she will be back to her old (young) self next sunday!
