I was hoping the 2012 ALMA Awards would give America Ferrera the desire to step outside her navy/black box.
It just wasn’t to be.
Wearing her second navy look in a row, the actress celebrated the best Latino talent from television, film and music wearing a Carlos Miele Fall 2012 gown.
I love the draped details and the nipped-in waist of her chiffon, but as I said from the start, this isn’t anything new from America.
Even her Lorraine Schwartz jewels were navy blue.
Gorgeous wavy locks and a pretty coral lip colour completed her beautiful yet predictable look.

I understand her choice of colours – colours like black, navy, midnight blue, etc. are slimming which are (although safe) but the right choice for her. It’s a nice pretty gown but a bit fussy – there is a bit too much detailing going on, she is starting to get overwhelmed with all the chiffon. Her coral lippie and the bracelet are nice but she should’ve opted for an elegant ‘do.
ditto
I dislike the cape-like detail, otherwise she looks nice
I don’t like the chiffon piece coming from her shoulders to her waist. Too much detailing. The color look good on her though.
Totally agree. A bit pinched in the bust too, but otherwise a lovely dress. I like this navy blue on her, actually, although it is routine. She looks great.
I think she looks great.
Safe but cute.
this dress belongs on helen miren or meryl streep
