Even though I have spent the last week oohing and ahhing over stunning gowns during New York Fashion Week, Penelope Cruz came very close to topping them all when she hit the red carpet last night at the ‘Twice Born’ Toronto Film Festival premiere.
I’m floored by how gorgeous the Spanish actress is wearing an Atelier Versace gown.
Her vintage Gianni Versace pink gown with draped details and a sexy thigh-high split is the way to do uber sexy in a tasteful, glamorous way.
A Swarovski’s colorful crystal Rosette bangle, nude Versace platform sandals, gold earrings and a Swarovski gold crystal Starlight clutch accessorized her look.
I love the neutral makeup and the side-swept glossy locks which provided the finishing touches.

Yes it’s amazing – one of the best this year – but let’s face it it’s mostly because of her, on Mariah Carey this would’ve looked tacky, on Penelope it’s stunning

Penelope sure is gorgeous–the hair (if only she had swept back that wisp across her forehead!), makeup, earrings, clutch and shoes are good, and the soft pink is delightful on her. I just don’t like the dress.

I disagree, not a fan of the gathered bodice or the flat ironed hair. I think she looks like a barbie doll….
seriously, I thought I was the only one who thought this. the gathered bodice and slit are not classy, they’re what I would see on a cheap clubbing dress.
I totally agree. The gathered bodice really bothers me, it makes it seem that the dress is a size too small for her.
I don’t like it as well. The dress IMO makes her stomach big – the gathering of fabric in the midriff area kind of rounds it out. Also the make up makes her look her age or even a bit older, and usually I am always stunned by how youthful and fresh faced she is. And then the hair is ehhh

I love the gown and I love Penelope, but I don’t like Penelope in this gown.
I can’t say I dislike this gown on Penelope but I don’t think the ruched detailing works well for her in the midsection, a bit widening.
Gianni Versace was a genius, my favourite fashion designer ever and I just love this gown. So iconic, so Versace.

This dress is very late 90′s-early 00′s to me.
I’m glad someone else mentioned Mariah Carey because this is exactly the type of dress she would have worn back when Rainbow came out. Down to the flat-ironed hair.

She looks gorgeous but the dress looks kinda blah. It can be cheap looking depending on the lighting and angle.
I think this dress looks a little tacky with the gathered waist and high slit because of the colour. If this was in a rich, jewel-tone, I think it would look amazing
