There was a time when Toronto Film Festival was a lot less glamorous than its cousins, Cannes and Venice.
Something has changed this year, the gowns are more spectacular, and we are seeing a lot more couture so I couldn’t be happier.
Zhang Ziyi was glamour personified when she took the red carpet ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ premiere yesterday evening during the Toronto Film Festival.
Her ivory gown with bold shoulders, keyhole detail and a bejewelled neckline doesn’t make me go weak at the knees; it has me passed out on the floor.
Zhang Ziyi accessorized with silver jewels and an embellished clutch.
With a fresh face glow she completed her look with retro marcel waves and diamanté nails.

Outstanding. I love this Mark Bouwer dress. She looks so unbelievably glamorous. I live only a 45 minute drive from Toronto and it’s so exciting to see this amazing gown being worn. Toronto upgraded to five star hotels this year, and now I can see why – there’s a lot more star power to contend with this year.

I have to say, I am very impressed on how celebrities dressed up for TIFF, especially compared to Cannes and Venice, it’s just one great look to another, barely anyone had a miss! Such a great red carpet week after a lackluster summer!
Back to Zhang Ziyi, she looks amazing, the dress could have looked cheap on someone else, but she looks divine.

Gorgeous gown but I find the petite Zhang a bit overwhelmed, she just isn’t tall enough, and she needed to keep her accessories really simple not to take focus away from the bejewelled neckline – her embellished clutch is a bit too much and competing for attention.
I have to agree. This is a fabulous dress, but the proportions seems a little off. Like the neckline and shoulders are just a bit too larger for her.
nails are tacky,not going with the elegance of this look
I’m pretty sure I’m the only one, but that deep plunging keyhole shows too much skin for my taste. If that weren’t present, I would really like the look, even the bold shoulders MIGHT be slightly overwhelming her. I do like the early ’40s feel of the look, and her soft styling. The nails might be a bit too glitzy.
