Eva Mendes walked the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival last night with boyfriend Ryan Gosling for the premiere of their film ’The Place Beyond The Pines’.
The actress opted for a semi-sheer Dolce & Gabbana dress from the designers’ Fall 2012 collection for the event.
This is a difficult look to pull off on the red carpet. The busy lace will always detract from the person wearing it.
She’s attempted to keep her accesories to a minimum with the simple Casadei blade pumps and clutch, and though I admire Eva’s bravery with the Prada turban, I’m not sure it works here.

Random turban aside, I like this look. The accessories (especially the waistband) are well chosen. I also like the length of the dress and the sleeves better on Eva than the model.

I don’t like this look and I HATE her facial expressions. She seems way too short for this dress although the turban looks fine. Also, I can’t wait to see this movie!! (only for Gos and the director)

Do not like this look at all (!!). The turban feels awfully awkward and out of place here. Ditch the turban, shorten the dress a little bit, get a pair of delicate sexy sandals and a pretty grey/silver minaudiere.

I like everything except the turban, too much “Sunset Boulevard” for my taste; not with this dress, anyway, which is very beautiful and the accessory of the last photo… great choice!
Oh, but that turban must be dealt with. Preferably with fire – so we can’t chance having it appearing again in another celebrity head.
As for the dress… I love lace, but there’s to much of it. It needs to be shortened, or loose the sleves, or get a less severe cleavage – 2 of those 3 would be good.

Who says busy lace are distracting?? Eva Mendes proves Fashion Police wrong by looking every inch the goddess in this semi sheer lace up dress by Dolce & Gabbana!! We love how she makes the dress speak for itself by wearing simple heels and the turban makes her look well polished!! Perfection!!
