Miley Cyrus gave her striking, super-short blonde ‘do its debut on the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Music Video Awards in California on Thursday evening.
The singer/actress, whose hairstyle was identical to fellow singer Pink, wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 gown.
Her vampy black gown with sheer panels was styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and an Edie Parker clutch.
Some of you have never been able to warm to Miley’s looks on the red carpet, but this part-glamorous, part-gothic ode-to-Pink look gets a thumbs up from me.
You may remember that Kylie Minogue wore this same gown in red to amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala during Cannes Film Festival.

It has long been official, but I am saying it again: Miley Cyrus has left her Disney fans in the dust. No class. Little taste besides a Hollywood stylist.

I don’t mind that she is switching up her image but perhaps she could try something original. Pink has been sporting this hair trend and rocker chick style for years and Miley knows that so I don’t like this ‘copy-cat’ look. She is a beautiful girl and I like her new hair but something different would have been great.
While there is nothing new under the sun, I don’t think Miley has many original thoughts. I dislike her teeth, dislike her hair, dislike her style.
I think she has managed to do a grown up rocker chic look without being a try hard or tacky. Thumbs up from me.

She looks great but what I noticed most was how comfortable she looks in her own skin! I mean most of the times I feel that she was always trying to be somebody else on the red carpet and not finding her own groove but here she just looks comfortable and that adds to this appearance! and her hair style is also suiting her overall personality!

I know!!! The hair is really terrible–obviously it’s hair and she can do whatever she wants but this was pretty much the worst style she could have chosen. I really dislike the dress too…especially on her. It’s too old. She was one of my least favorites of the night, although nobody beats Rita Ora.

I think this gown looks absolutely amazing on her. She definitely has the body to rock it!
But I hate the hair, she has been so much prettier with long hair.
The whole thing is a hot mess on her. Someone else, like Pink, could have pulled it off, but Miley doesn’t. She doesn’t want to be a Disney girl anymore, but she should find her own look and not try to pull off someone else’s.

Short hair is not for everybody. I want to remain polite so I will just say that you can’t have a face that round and expect to look good with this haircut. You just can’t.

I saw this and immediately thought “Renée Zellweger”. Even though the dresses are slightly different in the train, I think Renée wore it better. The mohawk doesn’t fit.
She pulls off the dress, even if it would have been great with shortened sleeves but it’s a huge NO from me for the hairstyle. I hate it on her + Pink surely had a heart attack when she saw it
