Jessica Chastain In Jason Wu – Fashion’s Night Out At Jeffrey

Jessica Chastain joined in on the Fashion’s Night Out fun in New York City last night at Jeffrey.

The actress opted for a body-countouring Jason Wu dress from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.

Although Jessica looked lovely, there’s no wow-factor in this ensemble for me. Blue is definitely on-trend this season, but I don’t think the electric hue is the right shade for her.

The black cuff, however, adds a modern edge with YSL tribute pumps completing the look.

What do you think?

Sexy and on-trend without being over the top. I think she looks fabulous!

I think the dress looks beautiful on her and the cuff is also a great addition. My problem are the YSL pumps. I can’t begin to tell you how bored I am of them.

“And I adore the YSL tribute pumps” – FC, are you seriously? or is it sarcasm?

  4. Elaine September 7, 2012 at 16:03 #

I re-read this about 4 times as I was shocked for FC to be saying she adored black YSL Tributes….

I only just noticed that this post isn’t by FC at all!

      lol..that is correct

I don’t understand why she struggles to make thing work, as she is drop dead gorgeous. This looks too much like a superhero costume and that cuff is distracting in a bad way. Hair and makeup are on point though.

+1 the problem here is the dress. I don’t see anyone looking good in it. There is no wow factor and it’s too boring for Comic con.

I think this look is too tough for her. Leaves me cold.

    • Nat39 September 7, 2012 at 18:20 #

It’s simply a wrong look for her, agree, it doesn’t suit her very soft, feminine persona, too tough for her indeed.

I don’t like this look for her. I cant exactly explain why – but doesn’t suit her and does not flatter her figure.

    • Marybeth September 8, 2012 at 00:33 #

Yes! I agree that it is not figure-flattering at all.
It’s odd. The dress has dark block contouring that seems as if it SHOULD make the wearer look slimmer, and yet Jessica almost looks chunky in it.
(The bulky pumps don’t help either!)

Are those YSL tribute pumps coming back? please, no!

  9. ash September 7, 2012 at 17:33 #

Am I this only one who love this look?

This dress lost her “sweet” side on Jessica. She looks like a biker and this color is awful on her. And those pumps… “Pardon, mais c’est non”.

  11. Jennesia September 7, 2012 at 19:39 #

This is not it…..It would have fared better if the dress was a pencil dress vs A-Line.

yet another snoozefest from miss chastain.

  13. Parvati September 8, 2012 at 00:56 #

I actually really like this look on her.

  14. Fiona September 8, 2012 at 01:31 #

Wrong dress, wrong colour, wrong shoes – great example of taking something very on-trend and trying to make it work for you.

  15. Alina September 8, 2012 at 10:38 #

    I think she looks great!

  16. EmmaWoodhouse September 8, 2012 at 14:00 #

I don’t really like the dress. Bright blue leather seems too comic book for me, plus the whole look doesn’t work for her persona at all. The shoes are boring.
