Katharine McPhee clashed her prints on the red carpet at this year’s 9th Annual Style Awards at New York City’s Lincoln Center last night.
The singer-turned-actress looked lovely in a Peter Pilotto dress from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.
The print mismatch between the shift and the R&Y Augousti clutch is perfection – as are the Charlotte Olympia ‘Dolly’ platform pumps. I do, however, think that her outfit would work better in the daytime rather than for an evening soiree.
Do you agree?

I don’t like how the clutch clashes with the print of the dress, I think it makes the look unnecessarily fussy, the pumps work great however. Her hair also contributes to the fussiness of the look, would’ve preferred it neatly pulled back considering how print-busy the dress is.
Also think this look would work better for a daytime event.
You found the right words for it. It’s pretty but not right for the night.
I agree, this isn’t for nighttime. Also, I don’t like the clutch or shoes with the dress.
I think she looks great! I love that she took a risk with that clutch. I do think that she would have been perfect if she did a different hairstyle – a severe topknot could have made this more night-appropriate, for example.
Got to say I kind of this it’s an ugly dress…with bad shoes…cool clutch but not with this.
I like it but I agree. More of a daytime look.
The only thing I like about this is her glossy hair.
I love it, day or night !
Although the shoes alone are great, I don’t like them with this dress. I think she should have worn the runway shoes.
