Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini gave us a masterclass in wearing the label at two events in Venice over the weekend.
For the Gucci Award for Women in Cinema soiree, Frida chose a black silk double georgette beaded gown from the design house’s Fall 2012 collection.
The plunging neckline lifts the ensemble from its androgynous tailored roots, as does the black on black degraded leopard print, which you can just make out in the photo above (left). The long blonde tresses, peep-toe heels and exquisite earrings also add a feminine touch.
For the Gucci Fragrance Launch, Frida switched gears into a beautiful Gucci one-of-a-kind silver and gunmetal v-neck silk crepe cocktail dress, which looks as at home here as it would on the set of ‘The Great Gatsby’.
I’m in love with the whole look, particularly the art deco graphic beading and black diamond crystal embellishments. The soft undo, drop earrings and peep-toe grey suede heels are the perfect accompaniment.
Which look is your favourite?

She looks beautiful. I love the silver dress. It looks like a relative of the spring 2012 collection, with it’s 1920s glamour.
Gucci does modern interpretations of vintage silhouettes like no one else, which is what I love most from them.
Definitely the grey–beautiful.
The first is very beautiful and classy and the second is beautiful, too but I would have chosen other shoes. So i prefer the first one.
The styling of both outfits is spot on for me, but if forced to chose, I like the first perhaps a shade more, it’s so easy and elegant and I love the way her hair is styled with it.
The second one.
The grey look is perfection! So classy and yet not cookie-cutter.
The Second Great Gatsby-esque dress.
I don’t like the black only the grey.
The first look appear unflattering to her in the middle section. The second look is fantastic.
The gunmetal dress looks like a version of Jennifer Garner’s Gucci gown at the 2007 Golden Globes. Doesn’t it? After all, she is the creative director and looks fab!
That grey dress is gorgeous and her styling is perfect. Love it.
I don’t like the shape of either dress, as I don’t think they really flatter her. The details on the gray are quite beautiful, though. I just wish it didn’t have such a low neckline and unfitted silhouette.
