Carina Lau joined Zhang Ziyi on the red carpet for the 2012 Bazaar Charity Night held in Beijing, China, on Saturday evening.
The beautiful actress, known for her love of colour, wore an all black Alexander McQueen look.
We didn’t see nearly enough of the McQueen Spring 2012 collection on the red carpet, so I’m glad Carina decided to wear this embellished silk chiffon and lace gown on this occasion.
The exquisite gown with a skirt which cascades into a beautiful sheer train was styled with a black McQueen clutch, with a gold frame and skull clasp, gold earrings, an elaborate gold cuff and Jimmy Choo heels.
Wisely opting to make this look all about the gown, she kept her makeup very simple, applying a glossy lip colour and sweeping her hair back into a simple bun.
As usual, Carina always delivers on the red carpet.

Not everyone is a Christina Ricci, one of the few petite women who can carry off a gown that by all rights should be too much. Both Lau and Zhang come close for me. But in both cases, I would much prefer to see the looks on taller women. Love the dragon lady nail, lol, admire the total commitment.
Love this look so much. I prefer this look over Zhang Zhiyi any day.
Love the main photo! Her shoes look like they are attached to the train. Amazing!
Actually, I’m missing the runway belt/metallic piece. But great look nonetheless.
She looks beautiful! Can’t believe she’s 46 y.o.!
absolutely adore the shoes, RIP Alexander McQueen, you left a great legacy.
She looks gorgous! I love that dress!
I for one am so happy to see that dress finally make the red carpet…. it is absolutely stunning…. I love it… and can you ID the name of those Choo’s…. I have been looking everywhere for them…
Not a fan of the dress and it seems to be wearing her–and she knows it. It doesn’t work for me.
Sadly, I agree.
She is working it!
This gown looks very Julien MacDonald-ish. And i think it lost its spark without the gold harness and those amazing heels.
well executed!!! she is so pretty for her age!!! (46!)!
It’s a bold sexy look but not really for her, would love to see it on someone a bit younger, taller and sexier. Hoping for re-run. Great shoe choice.
FC, I remember when this look was on your list of favorites in the sidebar!
It’s not my style (a bit too Gothic looking) but I love the Asian red carpet events. High-octane glamour!
