On Friday evening, Angelababy hit the red carpet during the 2012 Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her latest film, ‘Tai Chi O’.
I’ve loved her Elie Saab, and surprisingly loved her in Herve Leger, but that love doesn’t extend to this Georges Chakra Spring 2012 Couture gown.
This lime green shimmering beaded dress with peach and blue tulle accents and a chiffon train screams pageant queen to me.
As beautiful as she looks, there’s nothing I find appealing about this gown.
Christian Louboutin diamante peep-toes, which are two sizes too big for her, flowing raven locks, a silver serpent cuff and diamond encrusted drop earrings completed her look.

Cheap-looking dress.
I have to reply under your comment, since I share your name AND your opinion. I’ve actually found all the Georges Chakra dresses so far very cheap looking, especially the two worn at Bazaar Charity Night by Zhang Ziyi and prticularly the one on Jing Tian. I was beyond surprised to find that everyone loved it and thought it was BDOTW or even BDOTY contender as it looked very “$100 on eBay”/promdress to me.
This green cration is actually by far the least cheap looking (exept in close ups) but I’m not crazy about it either.
Unfortunately it is. Shiny and sheer; a sickly pistachio color.
I agree with you, FC, about “pageant queen”. The fabric looks so cheap an I don’t like the color.
This just exactly looks like the gown my sister worn when she joined Ms Idaho circa 1984……..holy bejesus…..
The gown is ugly. Hate the design and color.
One word, too bad. Coz her hair and make-up plus her grace on red carpet is the best I’ve seen from her so far.
Agree about the gown. Hair and makeup are flawless though.
How do these ladies walk in such big shoes? I’d be tripping all over the place!
i actually do not dislike the dress on the runway. I suppose it just changes depending on the hair and skincolour of the wearer.
It looks like a prom dress.
Disagree. Apart from the shoes, I quite love her in this dress. Not many other’s would have pulled it off, and again I think she benefits from being slender, because it looks beautiful.
+1. This shouldn’t work, but it does.
I agree. I actually like the dress, it’s different and it works on her
I would like the dress if the peach and blue tulle accents on the bodice and down the skirt were not there. I love the color, the texture and the tulle train and I love the color on her. The dress evokes a sparkly lizard anc could be spectacular.
Meh.
I can’t quite explain why, but I like this on her. It’s weird, but still, it’s charming. It’s like she chose to wear an impressionist painting and the wrapping it was delivered in.
