As one of the jury members for the 2012 Venice Film Festival, Laetitia Casta took to the red carpet tonight for the premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the Opening Ceremony this evening.
The French actress was of course wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown. You could ID this signature gown from the moon.
Her black-lace sheer gown with tonal embellishments was allowed to dazzle due to the effortless styling, which included black platform heels, smoky eyes and a simple bun.
I know many of you are tired of this bra and panties baring formula which works so well for the brand, but how do you feel about this look on this occasion?

I think a black, short camisole-like lining could do wonders for this look. I don’t like this, specially in such a classy situation.
Have to say I’m scholing in horror tat this look, and am quite disappointed as I had high hopes from her. Tackiness aside, the bra + panties + lace dress combination feels dated.
I don’t like it at all. It would have looked much better lined. In its attempt to be sexy, it actually looks unflattering on her killer body. And the shoes?? The platform in the front looks very cheap – she could have at least worn a strappy sandal. She’s beautiful but the look is a fail.
don’t like it. she tries way too hard, like she did at the Cesars (she wore a see through gown without a bra)
I’m mortified, but willing to admit I jus tmay not get why this is desirable. Add the chunky-looking platform heel and I’m just too unimpressed.
I know what you mean. And can you imagine everyone taking your photo and then walking around interacting with people at a formal event when they’re all looking at you in your underwear?
Really don’t like this. And I don’t think I would have liked it for a different occasion.
I think it’s a disaster including hair and makeup. She just doesn’t look good.
+1
+2. Tasteless. And not particularly flattering.
The outfit couldn’t have been worse!
She is undeniably beautiful and has an enviable body. But, I’m totally 100% over the sheer, “look at my bra and granny panties” trend. It never looks sophisticated and practically always looks cheap.
+1. Its very dated and everything here looks disaster !
+2
Nope, dont like it, i feel like the bra and panties are so regular what you wear every day. No i dont expect so elobrate bra and panty set but the gown isnt glamourous
She is beautiful.
But this dress looks TACKY and CHEAP.
+1 I feel like this been done before. Same ol dress.
Terrible.
I think the look works better when the top half is lined and the skirt remains sheer. It would also have shown off the studded neckline better. As is the look feels too tacky.
‘There’s no such thing as bad publicity’ ….If this is her motto she accomplished her goal, otherwise she does not look at her best.
When I saw her arriving on the red carpet I thought “wow, I love this dress!”. I don’t think it’s tacky, because she’s not, and tackiness for me is a way of being, 99% of the times. But I think that every time she got interviewed she says that she’s a mother, a thinking woman, an actress and that she doesn’t want to be reminded that she’s beautiful and that she has become famous because of her body. What!?! She become famous as a model, she posed naked etc and then she wears a dress like this? She’s beautiful of course, because she couldn’t become famous thanks of her intelligence, for sure. Can I say that I’m tired of these beautiful women who say that beauty doens’t matter and that it’s all about personality?
The lace is pretty, and the shape of the overdress is okay tho I don’t much like the neckline in front, but I have never liked the bra and panty thing–especially the panty part. Not a winner in my book.
It is a lace dress over underwear…
I have never been for the bra or panties showing. Nothing classy about it. This certainly does nothing to change that opinion.
Not for everybody.. I wouldn’t wear this look.. but Laticia Looks great !
Not for everybody.. I wouldn’t wear this look.. but she Looks great !
I am so sick and tired of this dress from D&G. Laetitia is gorgeous always, but it’s not because of this dress. It looks underdesigned, like a cheap knock-off
HATE!
I actually like it, it’s quite gutsy.
Wow, this is really bad. It’s the Venice film festival for god’s sake.
Tacky!
This looks so tacky for such an event!
What was she thinking? She looks like she was at the beach just before and randomly put a lace dress over her swimsuit… I hate it from top of head to bottom of toe
I don’t find it tacky, considering the luxurious look/material of the lace, but I dislike it nonetheless.
It was wonderful.
She can.
Has a perfect body.
When Dita Von Teese, despite her extensive knowledge of underwear, couldn’t pull off this look, I thought no one could. Casta has confirmed this.
This look has been done to death but I really like it though. The chunky shoes have got to though.
Tacky.
And to think she was the jury, makes it look worse in my eyes.
I am tired of it, especially at a formal event like this it is just tacky and not really that flattering. It takes my eye away from the gown which is actually quite dazzling. Don’t like the makeup either, nor the sandals.
If you are going to wear a see-through dress, then leave the underwear at home. And if you don’t have the balls for it, I am sorry, the vagina for it, then don’t wear a freaking see-through dress!
I dunno, if britney spears has already worn it like 5 years ago, its time to rethink the fashion choice
agree with the dated look
Laetitia sure has a million options! she can do better
I’m getting a 90s vibe, and that’s never good. Come on, it’s the Venice film festival, give me some old school film diva drama.
No no no, Laetitia. You’re so much better than this.
I really hope she redeems herself in the next days, this is a total disaster.
NOT A FAN. ITS SOMEWHAT A LOUNGERIE
BORING BORING BORING
she is the new dolce e gabbana testimonial, so it her dress choice was obvious. In a such formal occasion you can’t use this kind of outfit! You know, this festival in Italy it s like the Oscar or Cannes…where have you left , laetitia ,glamour and elegance?
