Mary Louise Parker was spotted outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Tuesday for her guest appearance on the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’.
The ‘Weeds’ star chose a printed chiffon Alberta Ferretti Spring 2011 dress for the late-night chat.
Matching the boho feel of the flowing mini with an asymmetrical neckline, MLP chose a pair of chunky gold wedges.
This look is great for a casual weekend shopping trip while on vacation, but I’m curious as to how it will translate to TV, plus I think it’s incredibly short.
Natural waves and light makeup complete the look.

Not a pretty look. Something is off about it.
I think she’s too pale for it. That neckline is hard to pull off also. At least she has the (lack of) boobs for it.
The perfect dress for a walk on the beach.
for me, the shoes are of.. a strappy sandal in a colour from the dress would be perfect! and a little clutch..
I love MLP but she is starting to look quite altered. I think this look is too young for her. Very Nancy Botwin circa 2006.
That is a beautiful summer dress. She looks stunning in that. I actually like the shoes. Sandals would have been to casual I think.
I 100% agree. She looks great!
Whoever put this look together had to be high.
Dress is not appropriate for a TV appearance, it isn’t flattering on her at the neckline or bust area.
I agree that the dress is not greatly flattering to her, in respect to both color and cut, but it’s not awful on her either.
As FC suggested, it would be quite nice as a casual daytime resort dress…..but for a late night TV show? NO. I’d forgive an unsophisticated teenager wearing this, but not someone Ms. Parker’s age.
And how is she supposed to sit down in it without giving us too much information?
I like this. It is short, but she carries it off well.
Good lord those are some ugly shoes.
I think she pull off this look. But, I blame those wedges for not liking the whole look.
It is a high fashion version of what Nancy would have worn in seasons 3 to 5. It shows off her best feature – her legs.
The dress is tiny, and feels like a sarong that she turned into a dress. I don’t see fashion here–the neckline is very odd. The shoes are ugly too.
where is her other boob?
