Debra Messing attended the launch for Post-It’s new anti-bullying campaign, held at New York City’s PS 15 Roberto Clemente Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon.
The actress showed of the ever-popular fit-and-flare silhouette wearing a Rafael Cennamo Fall 2012 cocktail dress.
The pewter-and-black dress features an interesting play on the classic houndstooth print in a metallic jacquard.
Simple black pumps and signature red waves complete the look.
Do you love this metallic look, or is it a bit too much for the casual daytime event?

i say leave this silhouette for the pretty young things. once you reach a certain age, it looks more appropriate for something a little more regal? maybe longer or a more grown up look.

+1 way too sweet and not a good look on Debra or anyone else for daytime IMO
Agree – I love this dress, especially the houndstooth, and I don’t mind shimmer for the daytime but I do think that Debra is a little mature for such a girly shape. A pencil skirt version of this would have been beautiful.
Sadly, a bit too much for me
Nice dress, hair and makeup, but boring shoes.
I love that Rafael Cennamo is getting some RC love. The dress is cute but not fit for her.
I agree. I think the dress doesn’t suit her.
i dont mind it. she is pair shape so it hides her problem area and enhances her smaller top area.
The fabric is cool but it hangs too stiffly, especially at the hem. It’s well suited as upholstery.
She’s too old for it, and yes too much for a formal event.
I like it.
I would have saved the dress for nighttime but I think she looks great and I love the metallic against her gorgeous red hair.
I didn’t like this/similar dress on Ellie Kemper. She may be some 10+ years younger than Debra but it looked more juvenile on her than on Debra who I think totally makes it work with her gorgeous sexy hair and even the simple black pumps seem to work better.
I like it too. She looks great. Just wish for a red lipstick.
I looooove this dress but this is not the right event for it.
I really like this dress! It’s cool and cute at the same time. I love the hounds-tooth jacquard. I like the black shoes with it too. BDOTW-worthy? Yes, it might be a bit young for her, but it looks so good!
She really haven’t aged well and could use a stylist.
