Eva Longoria was the beautiful host of the Global Gift Gala, held at the Gran Melia Don Pepe Resort in Marbella, Spain, on Sunday evening.
For the event, which benefited ‘The Eva Longoria Foundation’, the former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star wore a gorgeous purple Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012 gown.
Eva tends to give us lots frou frou for big events, so I was surprised at this more streamlined look.
The strapless corset gown with waist narrow panels was styled with a metal clutch and diamond earrings.
Out goes the pageant hairstyle she tends to favour for a simple ponytail with dark eye makeup and a coral lip colour.

She looks great. Eva’s version of the gown works for her and I love the purple color. I love the fuchsia lip with her purple gown.

There is nothing special about this. I prefer the color and fit on the model. Hair is ordinary, makeup is overwrought.

With deep jewel tones even a brunette has to wear enough make-up to keep from looking washed out — but I think Eva overdid the eyes a little bit.
Other than that, I like this a lot.
The overdone eye makeup is my only complaint here too. Other than that she looks great in this purple gown, nice silhouette, the clutch and the hair work really well.
That makeup is so awful. Why would you take such a naturally beautiful woman and slather pounds of black raccoon-like makeup on her?

I love the color of the dress, but the satin translates cheaply on and off the runway. I think it’s the seaming in the bodice. I’m afraid the dress looks a bit prommy on Eva. Her hair is OK but the makeup is quite terrible.
